Merry Jimmy-mas to everyone!

Seeing Jimmy on the mound after his long rehab is going to be a cool experience. I don't know what to expect right now regarding his results, and I don't really care. Hopefully him getting back on the mound serves as an emotional boost and gets this team rolling.

This game is appointment TV for me tonight - hoping for a solid return for Big Sweat and a Brewers' W to put last night's drubbing in the rearview mirror!

Kudos to Nelson for all the hard work rehabbing and keeping a positive outlook despite the long road back!! It would be so awesome for this team if he's able to lock down a rotation spot at anywhere close to the level of production he had most of 2017 before his injury.

Really nice of the Brewers pitching staff to purposely tank last night so no matter what Jimmy would be an improvement today.

The Streak is on the line tonight. I have been to 9 straight wins, going back to last June:

5 straight (June-Sept. 2018)

1 in Oct (NLDS Game 2 2018)

3 this year (April-May 2019)

Don't worry, I'll be there tonight to offset your good luck with some bad luck.....

You play 162 games, you are bound to have games that just simply get away from you. Excited to be there tonight to see Jimmy. Hope it is a positive one that he can build off of going forward.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

You know what actually feels bad? Giving up a ton of runs in a bunch of game enroute to a 5+ game losing streak. 17 runs in one loss, cool story, one game. If this was football I would care because getting destroyed usually means your team is total garbage. Baseball? It was an off day at the park. Avoid making it 4 more losses in a row and it won't even matter.

Keep politics out of threads. Next one will get a temp ban.

I'm thinking probably in the 90ish range. I haven't seen pitch counts, but he's been pitching into the 6th inning a decent amount. I'm figuring on 4-5 innings personally, I highly doubt he'll have super sharp command...so it will probably take 80-90 pitches to potentially get through 5 innings even if he's generally successful today.

Brought my team from work to the game. Got there early to tailgate.

Lots are opening a half hour late. I'm annoyed.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Nelson does tonight, especially because the pitching, which seemed to be stabilizing, has suddenly looked very shaky again. Gonzalez and Chacin (who has struggled all season) on the DL, recent rough outings from Anderson and Woodruff, and several relievers looking like gas cans. Nelson being able to return to the rotation and be effective looks more critical now than it did a couple of weeks ago.

He may be running into a confident, hot hitting team. They scored 9 in each of their last two games before yesterday’s debacle.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I haven't been following Nelson's minor league starts too closely, but what are we thinking for pitch limits? 50? 80? Let it rip?

In his AAA starts he threw 72, 84, 86, 87 and 97 pitches. I don't think there's a hard limit beyond the usual, but I'm sure they'd be very happy if he could get through 5-6 on a low(ish) pitch count and pull him.
