Didn't Sal Bando end up taking a bunch of guys that later turned out to be awesome for other teams? For one, I'm pretty sure the Brewers drafted Nomar Garciaparra out of high school

I guess you could find a list of these types for every team in baseball.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Nomar was an unsigned 5th round pick for us in 1991. You really can find that that list everywhere. A 16th round flyer on a 3/4 round talent out of high school that dropped due to signability could turn out to be a Rodon or a complete bust when he comes back out. One of my buddies was drafted out of high school & he decided to head of to his D1 scholarship for one of the top programs in country. Ended up with multiple surgeries to his shoulder and elbow. Never really stayed on field enough to get 2nd chance. That is the risk everyone of these kids take. Injuries, performance, playing time could a cost them their future.

Our 20th round pick last Zabel went on to play football and baseball this year.... got in huge trouble on campus and was arrested. Was drunk, let himself into a girl he knows unlocked dorm room (uninvited), crawled in bed with her. Not sure of details from their except she woke up, rushed out of room, and called the cops. He passed out in the bed and cops arrested him. This happened about a month ago. Not a great start for him improving draft stock.

Proud member since 2003 (geez ha I was 14 then)

FORMERLY BrewCrewWS2008 and YoungGeezy don't even remember other names used

There was a good article about Nomar a few years ago where it said the deal was basically done. I can't remember why it fell through. Don't forget Alex Fernandez--he was awesome.
