Braun does his job and Hirua has an rbi. You just cant win this way long term.

huh?

He thinks it’s bar league softball and that these hitters should be able to hit a pitch on the inside corner to the right side

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I'm guessing he meant move him over to 3rd base...but Braun was 2 for 2 and seemed to be seeing the ball well so I wouldn't want him TRYING to hit the ball the other way when he could yank one out of the park or just drive him in with a single. I like small ball, but that's dumb small ball this early in the game against a mediocre pitching staff/bullpen (one run isn't a big deal in that situation compared to a late game situation against great pitching)

I get that but against good pitching they will need to improve this part of their game. It has been a struggle all year and improvement would help offset some of the pitching issues.

Umm my little league team does it so asking Ryan Braun to hit a ball to right side isn't too much to ask. Thanks for your feedback tho.

:laughing Really? Oh boy. It’s just not that easy. Nor should it automatically be the approach.

They doing it to a 92 mph pitch? With an insanely long bat?

So if Davies can get through 7 who are we going in the 8th. Can't just hand it to Claudio. Jeffress for the 9th is probably the best play.

Hopefully we can tack on some runs and Davies can shut them down for a couple more innings. Their bullpen must be spent too.

If that is the case, that little league team is being severely over-managed.

That totally seems like a reasonable parallel.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

The Pirates just failed to move a runner over to 3B. Must be Brewer flu or something because no other team besides the Brewers does that.

welcome back, endaround

It’s not in the crew’s DNA to manufacture runs. This Team doesn’t even try to move em over and get em in. The crew will probably set the all time home run record. That’s their approach, bash ball. But like Bulldogboy, I don’t think that boads well against world class pitching that we’re going to see in the playoffs. But I believe Stearns knows we need another quality non K bat and he’ll get it at the deadline. And I’m hoping our pitching can overcome the Lack of small ball or by then CC and Stearns can get the players to move em over and get em in come playoff time.
