Did they just say second best in the NL with runners in scoring position?

They did. Which also doesn’t fit some people’s narrative.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Cain is always almost hurt. Every play he has to move on, even walking to the plate the guy looks like he is "almost" hurt.

Apparently our pitchers can't work through the power house of a lineup the Pirates have. You have to be able to handle the crappy teams or you become one.

They were best in baseball RISP until recently. My problem with the offense is with home run or nothing. No moving runners over, runner at 3rd less than 2 out > stranded, etc. can’t win playoff games vs great pitching with the all or nothing offense, just look no further than last year vs the dodgers.

Well this pitcher doesn't have his slider going.

The bottom of the order is sitting on his change up and he keeps throwing them change ups that you can hit.

And every hit is finding a gap or grass

Very frustrating.

I would look a lot further. Using one series of baseball is a terrible way to make a judgement.

Last year I didn’t feel like we were as HR dependent as we are this year, and I will GLADLY take this years offense! So... look no further than last years Dodgers series as to why we needed more “power” guys.

Who cares how you get the runs so long as you get them. Your premise that there is only one way to create offense is just wrong. Offense is not the problem with this team.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

What a disappointment it's going to let this one slip away if we don't come back.

You get spotted 5 runs by a mediocre team with Woodruff on the mound, you need to find a way to win it.

Wouldn’t really call the pirates a crappy team. Most of those are in the American League.

Am I the only one who’s been disappointed with how Guerra’s pitched out of the pen? Even when he wasn’t giving up runs it should be stuff that plays up and it just doesn’t.

Right down the middle FB Guerra. No harm in walking him. Grooves a FB down the middle.

Better than walking in multiple runs. At least they earned it.

Yeah middle middle FBs should be every pitch. Works for Burnes.

Not even slightly disappointed.

Ok. Most of last year our offense worse than our pitching. Especially in the playoffs.
