So if the brewers do send Hirua out and keep two guys hitting. 170 each what is the statement being sent to the fanbase? Just wondering what people think. Trying to win now? Something else?

Only thing I can think is that they would be trying to build up some kind of value in order to trade them. As it stands you'd get jack squat in return.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

If Hiura is sent down it won't be for long. I don't know how the fan base would take. I just don't think there is an easy answer given everyone being healthy.

Well Moose lifted, will that require an IL stint?

If so makes the Shaw transaction simple for a few more weeks.

We are currently repping three catchers on the roster. That alone tells me they are swapping Nottingham for Shaw. There is no reason we would go a pitcher short right now to keep someone who won’t be used at all (Nottingham) unless we plan on sending him down in a day or two anyway.

Shaw for Moose

RP for Nottingham

I was assuming Nottingham for pitcher was coming anyways.

What is the message sent to Keston? What else does he need to do to get to the bigs?

If Hiura is sent down it will instantly be for too long.

They might carry an extra hitter until Gio's spot comes up and they need a starter.

Defense/footwork

That would be the narritive. I think it’s all a moot point now, as he’s most likely not going anywhere.

Hader has been pretty terrible today. Giving up lots of tater pitches.

5 Ks. Yes two big hits but only one other guy hit a pitch in play an infield pop up. So he wasn't his best but terrible is a little harsh. He came in to a terrible situation 1st and 3rd with no one out.

Granted, but its more complex then that. I don't think anyone really wants to send Hiura down, including the Brewers brass but there are scenarios.

K’s are great, but he was getting knocked around on way too many pitches.

We all being people who watch our fair share of baseball get that. But you can't with him over 900 ops
