Good grief he is making the decision hard.

No he's not. It's not hard at all. It's like the Braves thinking of sending out Riley.

Agreed. This is not a hard decision. You have a young high end prospect hitting well versus multiple veterans hitting terribly.

The reason it's a hard decision is because Aguilar and Shaw are under team control for several more seasons and we have every reason to see if they can rebound.

I'd think if he were hitting poorly it would be a much easier decision. Thus, hitting well is making it a hard decision was my point. Having said that, there is more to it than just performance and if he isn't past super two, he is going down until he is, almost guaranteed. And even then, who goes? They need Shaw in the future, they aren't just going to tell him oh well and option him.

I know, I say this every time but Shaw has 2 options left. Taking him off the IL to a demotion is not giving up on him. It's giving him time to get right.

Not to mention Aguilar can’t be optioned and if we were picking mostly likely to rebound Shaw would be the winner be a country mile. Also hard to dump Thames when he is the only one of the three to be half competent.

Seems like they will go a pitcher short for the time being. There really isn’t a best or perfect way to go about it.

He has to be over the service time doesn’t he?

Not yet. He's under 5 years.

Logically you're correct but there is no player in world with Shaw's track record that is going to see it that way and that has repercussions beyond this year.

Well Moose lifted, will that require an IL stint?

If so makes the Shaw transaction simple for a few more weeks.

We are currently repping three catchers on the roster. That alone tells me they are swapping Nottingham for Shaw. There is no reason we would go a pitcher short right now to keep someone who won’t be used at all (Nottingham) unless we plan on sending him down in a day or two anyway.
