Bucks off-season thread (non-draft)

coolhandluke121
the full quote was that it was disrespectful to the bucks who were fined for tampering. Bleacher report left the second part out. I think that is a perfectly reasonable response, so I rescind my previous post.

Here is the full quote:

"I feel like if you have a great team, and our goal is to win a championship and be the last team standing and get better each day, I think it's disrespectful towards my teammates talking about my free agency and what I'm going through," Antetokounmpo said. "So when the time is right, we're all gonna talk about it. I don't think the time is right."

"I wasted so much time in my life hating Juventus or A.C. Milan that I should have spent hating the Cardinals." ~kalle8

Going to put this here, but I think this is the dumbest time sharing idea I have ever heard.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/27707068/g-league-experiment-single-foul-shot

#1 - the NBA is really the only professional league that does a good job with Time of Game (can't speak too much about hockey), but MLB, NFL and NCAAF are the biggest offenders.

#2 - this really changes the game. heck, if they want to reduce TOG, I'd rather end games like the TBT this summer over this, and incorporate the Elam ending, which really reduces the need to foul, rather than this.

I doubt it will ever expand past the g league, but its still a dumb idea.

They just need to get rid of the endless fouling during the final 2-minutes of the game which makes the game extend for about 30-min. The last 2-minutes of any basketball game is the worst part of the sport. If they could get rid of this it would be great but I understand the strategy behind this it just slows the game down completely and is usually unnecessary and just extends the time the game is played versus actually deciding the outcome of the game.

I am not sure how you fix this or if you can.

It often DOES decide the outcome of the game, that's why teams foul. That said, the NBA is usually very realistic about fouling compared to every other level of basketball. When it becomes pretty obvious it's over, they will let the winning team dribble it out. Also fewer time outs now, so that helps. But I think it's actually exciting, because the team behind always has a chance if the score is close, with the 3pt shot, advancing the ball to half court, etc.

I'd add that cleaning up the review system of the last 2 minutes is probably a better thing to focus on right now in terms of speeding up end of situations. That doesn't change the fundamentals of the game the way a Elam ending or some kind of massive FT change would.

Side note though on changing FTs though is that changes like that have been made over the years. If you watch games from the 70s or other old games there was a whole different way on FTs. At some point, I think they even got 3 attempts to make 2. I have never fully looked it up though to know all the changes, I just know it used to be way different.

the new bucks uniform is nice, I just hate what Nike is doing. To introduce 2-4 new uniforms every season is insane. All they did was take 2 previous uniforms and combine them. I believe that the bucks will still be introducing a city, earned and classic uniform this season. I don't buy jerseys anymore, and never got into NBA ones anyway, so it doesn't bother me, but it must be frustrating to buy one and have it obsolete one year later.
