For whatever reason Chase looks way better in the pen? Anyone else agree or no?

He’s just a better pitcher than gio or Chacín. But especially in the pen. Like I said earlier his FB upticks which helps chase more than the uptick helps gio or Chacín.

His numbers are far worse in relief than starting. Small sample size, obviously.

I’m glad Travis is on his way back. Big part of the team. He will get it going.

Like the guy, but he shouldn't be coming back unless he is ready and finding his stroke. Nothing about his minor league numbers so far shows that he is ready.

Are we pouring it on?

not yet, but I hope we do...

pouring it on is a lot more fun that being poured on...

Yeah after that base running error I thought it might be time for a retraction of that post.

I retract it.

Think of it like spring training. They’re meaningless. They must feel he’s ready. I’ll trust that.

I’d rather have Plesac than Bill.

I like Rock... Calm, insightful, and just a good guy.

same, I like the guy. He has really grown on me over the years.

Nothing about his major league numbers this year really suggest he's ready either. But we'll see what happens.

That's probably true, but Hiura isn't the weakest link so if its him, what's the motivation?

He is the easiest to switch out. Easy demotion and keeps depth...probably the least risky so to speak.

Still really hard to bail on Aguilar this early and Thames overall hasn’t been that bad. The worst player is Aguilar and Thames is the most logical swap because he is a lefty too. But once again...drop one of them and they are gone forever. Hiura is an easy demotion and it gives some time to see if Shaw has turned it around. If not it is an easy swap to bring Hiura back up while optioning Shaw. Or bring Hiura back up if Shaw hits and Aguilar/Thames continue to not hit.

I just think Hiura being demoted buys time to see who will or will not hit. And I don’t think demoting Hiura, even if playing well, is some kind of crime considering how Shaw has hit the two years prior. They may not know what they are doing yet, who knows.

I think Hiura is starting to get used to the bigs, and dropping him back to AAA will just slow that process. He'll be right back where he started when he first came up once we bring him back up again... I'd rather let him stay with the big league team, and continue his progress.
