The Brewers went 7-12 versus the Pirates last season, by far their worst head-to-head record against any opponent in 2018 (next closest was 9-11 versus Cubs). Hopefully the Brewers can turn that trend around in 2019.

Looking at the batter vs. pitcher matchups, Chase Anderson has fared well against the Pirates with the exception of Starling Marte who has gone 13-for-27 with 6 extra base hits (3-2B, 1-3B, 2-HR) against Anderson. On the flip side the current Brewers have hit Joe Musgrove well (.921 OPS), but in a very limited amount of at bats (just 42).

Tonight's lineup:

LF Gamel

RF Yelich

CF Cain

3B Moustakas

C Grandal

2B Hiura

1B Thames

SS Arcia

P Anderson

Pretty interesting that they dropped Cain from the leadoff spot. Even more interesting that it's to the #3 spot.

Gotta try something to get him going. He had a few games where he hit into some tough luck, but overall I think he's been pretty brutal(just the eye test). Swinging at a lot of balls out of the zone too.

For whatever it is or isn't worth, Lorenzo has 1,460 career PAs batting 3rd, his most in any lineup position. Leadoff is second most at 899.

Cain should be batting 8th right now.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Cain is struggling, so let's hit him 3rd?

*shaking head*

(Since I voiced my displeasure, he will now go 3 for 4 with a HR and 3 RBIs...)

Keston with the 2B! Yeah, I don't think he is going anywhere for the return of Shaw.

Life isn’t always fair. Shaw probably should just stay down, but the fact they are rushing him back tells me either Hiura is going back or Aguilar is getting dumped. The later of which doesn’t make a ton of sense just because Shaw is a lefty and Aguilar is a righty. That would make the corner infielders very LHB heavy. Dumping Thames seems...questionable, but I suppose possible.

Who is in the TV booth with BA tonight?

Former Brewers Reliever and MLB Network Dan Plesac.

And he just made the "Hey Hey Hey!" tagline after talking about Matt Albers.

thanks, that is what I thought, but wasn't sure.

Jeez, Josh Bell is the new Christian Yelich.

I missed this. They are rushing him back?
