Rattlers Rock River Bandits 9-4

Hill collects 7 Ks and Fry keeps his hitting streak rolling for Wisconsin

By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

The 7-8-9 hitters in the order - Gabby Garcia, Je'Von Ward, and Korry Howell - contributed 6 hits and combined to hit for the cycle. Howell, playing CF again, still has not seen any time in the infield. Chris Mehring keeps referring to him as a "shortstop playing the outfield" so perhaps there's some tacit indication that we will indeed see Howell at SS and 3B at some point this season.

Robbie Hitt has given up 8 runs over his last two outings, spanning 5 outs. His ERA has jumped a bit. Adam Hill has been fine for the most part this year, and was today as well, though the sinker/slider profile isn't the most electrifying.

Missions Whitewash Redbirds

There's a joke here about Cardinals fans, but we'll stay away from it.

As the game story mentions, league-leading seventh shutout of the year for the Missions. The Missions' staff sports a AAA-best 3.74 ERA on the year, about a full 1.5 runs less than the PCL average ERA. That's outstanding work by the Brewers putting together that group and the Brewers' minor league instructors getting results. Saturday starter Aaron Wilkerson has given up just 2 ER in 32+ innings of work for the Missions.

Wood Ducks Escape with Series Tying 6-4 Victory Versus Carolina

Mario Feliciano and Tristen Lutz both homered in the last at bat loss to the Wood Ducks in Zebulon

After victory from the jaws of defeat yesterday, turnabout on Saturday. Clayton Andrews, so good so far this year, gives up the 3-run dinger in the top of the 9th.

Tristen Lutz has a 951 OPS in May. And Mario Feliciano, who hit his league-leading 9th home run, is about 3 months *younger* than Lutz.

Another day, another shutout for the Shuckers' staff. It was a Drew Rasmussen Day. Drew issued a career-high 3 walks, though from the two innings I saw, his command was consistent with his previous work. He also issued a career-high 73 pitches. He recorded all of his outs via K or ground ball.

No game story posted.
