fielder stats question

Kurt
I'm trying to find a site to compare Prince's first 850 at bats with his dad's and other great players, like griffey and bonds, etc. Is there a site that could show me this? I'm sure you can with baseball-reference.com but can't figure it out. I know I could also just whip out a calculator..but that's not too fun..

This site (listed in the Major League Forum FAQ) will get you close: Day By Day Batting Database. Here's its pitching counterpart: Day By Day Pitching Database.

Coming close to what you need?

Prince, first 849 AB

Cecil, first 848 AB

If you need to be at exactly 850 AB, look up box scores at a site like retrosheet.org and manually calculate, using the Prince and Cecil links as starting points.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Some things to keep in mind are different offensive era so Cecil's numbers are really quite huge, and number two the age difference was not Cecil's fault. He was partially blocked in Toronto and was more then ready to slug for a couple of years and the myth that he figured it out in Japan that year is just that a myth. Given the standards at first base he never would have been a HOFer but he might have had some interesting totals, and in retrospect may have looked really good not having given into roids.
