Looks like Between our inability to hit and Lester’s stats we’re due to hit him early and often today. Hey, it’s storming in southern Arizona in May so anything is possible right?

Wind chill in the upper 30s with possible showers. Just about everyone of our players from Southern California or Latin America, sorry, but this brewer team at a huge disadvantage mentally with the cold wet weather. It wasn’t the Cubbies tremendous pitching that stymied our offense yesterday. We have many more ski masked players than they do. If I were Counsell I’d ban the mask and be like Bud Grant.

So you argue that we have more players who don't like the cold, and your answer to that is "Too bad, gut it out and be colder?"

I think you are making way too much of the cooler weather. All players have played in the cold. None of them like it, whether they are from Venezuela or Buffalo.

So you have moved from “slight disadvantage” to “huge disadvantage”. Got it. Any idea how many cubs are from warm weather places?

Cubbies play many more game in this weather than the crew, so it’s a huge home field advantage over us. Some teams let the cold bother them more than others and I believe we are one of those teams. He with the most ski masks......

Wind chill in upper 30s isn’t even all that cold, why the ski mask anyhow? It’s a mental handicap, Arcia Aguilar moose look like They trying to keep from getting frostbite.

Breathing in colder air inhibits athletic performance, for one thing.

Mental handicap? How? You're literally just making stuff up now. Seriously.

Stop now. The ski mask paradox is as tried and true of a scientific process as anything. I do wonder though, if we happen to pour it on just enough, that we might be able to mitigate the ski mask paradox.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

The Cubs huge advantage has produced 2 runs in 24 innings for them.

I do think the Brewers hitters don’t perform well in cold weather and with the wind blowing in making home runs much more difficult. But I’m not sure the Cubs are that much better. Remember that 4 game sweep last April when the Brewers got shut out 3 times and the Cubs won low scoring games? After that experience just avoiding the sweep this weekend doesn’t seem so bad. Winning row of three would be sweet.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Thanks for speaking your opinion and defying the gang mentality.

Happy to hear some mic’d up people on the field, or at least strong mics at field level. Adds a little entertainment.

Really thought that was a double off the bat, especially with Cain running.

And JJ mic’d up pregame was awesome too.

Whoever the plate ump is. . He needs an eye check.

He’s probably just not used to the weather.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
