Happy Birthday to a couple of RHP's that were acquired by Milwaukee via trade:

Coming off Friday night's victorious eight-inning effort, the Mudcats' Noah Zavolas turns 23 today. He arrived from Seattle's organization with Ben Gamel for Domingo Santana.

Chad Whitmer of the Timber Rattlers celebrates turning 24 today, given his career success, he probably will be joining Zavolas at a higher level before too long. The Brewers ponied up a minimum of a quarter of a million dollars to acquire Whitmer from the Yankees last June 15th.

Lazar in relief today:

4 IP

3 H

0 ER

8 K

He’s really racking up the strikeouts

Disappointed, Lazar absolutely screams a Clancy type pitcher but haven’t seen much hype on him at all yet. Kid should be getting Roegnar type love! Young for level. Walks no one. Hard to hit. Racks up Ks like an animal. Very few runs against. Despite being a soft tosser he seems to be much closer to a young Fiers. Able to be deceptive, locate, and mix pitches well.

Great to see Lutz adjusting! Been pretty good so far in May! Feliciano is up to 6 HRs now & bat has been what we hoped for when drafted.

Can we just switch Tristen Lutz's calendars so he's got two Mays instead of an April. Good to see his bat is coming around again.

And if this keeps up, even with potential inning restrictions, I can't see Lazar lasting long in Wisconsin. Those numbers are pretty crazy.

Is it just me or does Zavolos kind of look like a mix of Ryan Braun & Dennis Sarfate in their old minor league team pictures? Weird observation

There is a recap of the scoring, where Max Lazar sits in the strikeout race and how many he has in so few innings, and a look ahead to the Kane County series that starts on Monday. The Mudcats are 21-14, but the Rangers' Down East team is a ridiculous 25-10 including 14-1 on the road. The Mudcats have not been a playoff team for ages, and never in their return to class High-A, as the Carolina media notes have indicated. Need to make up four games for a possible first-half title and playoff berth, quite a ways to go.
