From yesterday, this was the first of eight consecutive games against the Marlins' AAA club, meaning don't forget to look on the other side of the box score for Lewis Brinson, Monte Harrison, Isan Diaz, and even Yadiel Rivera over the next week. (RHP Jordan Yamamoto is at AA Jacksonville.)

On Dallas Carroll's release this week off the Mudcats' roster -- it was less than a month ago in the Carolina home opener:

FYI - Dallas' twin brother Dalton was released after just one year of moundwork in the Braves' system in 2016. Numbers were fine.

Best wishes to Dallas.

Rasmussen 47 pitches 30 strikes

2 ip 3 h 1 r 0 bb 1 k 1 hit batter

First AA start, tougher competition obviously, but what impresses me as much as anything, is, he just doesn’t walk anybody. Love it that he’s in AA,now, let’s see what he can do against tougher competition.

Rain Cancels Final Game of Rattlers Series with Fort Wayne

Horrible weather forces Wisconsin to call off Wednesday’s game

Chris Mehring, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

GRAND CHUTE, WI – Wednesday’s series finale between the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and Fort Wayne TinCaps at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium has been rained out. The two teams will not meet again during the regular season and this game will not be rescheduled.

Wisconsin’s homestand continues on Thursday night with they welcome the Lake County Captains to the ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm.

The Brewers no longer have the luxury of developing Williams as a starter. He’s scheduled to be a minor league FA after the season.

With his intermittent command issues, he’s more cut out to be a reliever at this point anyway. I do love the progress he’s made, though, and in fact think he may end up as a 40-man add in September.

Or he could be added to the 40-man roster and developed as a starter for the next 2-3 years.

Another thing I noticed is what a ridiculous season Zac Gallen is having for the Baby Cakes. One would have to think Miami will be promoting him very soon.
