Jay Jackson, Donnie Hart called up, Wilkerson to IL, Alex Wilson DFA'd

Recommended Posts

"Left foot contusion"...I'd say that's our first Phantom IL trip since it became the IL, but not sure why they wouldn't just send him down.

Love that they're fairly quick to get Jackson up.

The Hart move makes sense as well - he was good in his first stint, and with Claudio not being good lately I like another lefty right now over Williams. Plus it's a good test that justifies freeing up his 40-man spot if he ends up not doing as well this time.

I give them credit for at least trying to right the bullpen ship.

I don't understand the Hart callup. He is a LOOGY at best. He was putrid last year for the Os (31 hits and 12 runs in only 19 IPs). RH hitters hit an unbelievable .390/.457 against him. He stunk in his first callup with Milwaukee (2 hits and 4 walks in 2 IPs), and has been awful at San Antonio (8 hits in only 3.2 IPs, 7.36 ERA, 2.73 WHIP). Claudio has been getting hit hard lately, so maybe Hart is CC's only recourse for another lefty. At least Jackson is getting a shot. He's been doing well at San Antonio and is an improvement over Wilson. Let's hope he can bring some stability to the pen.

I don't get Hart either, just seems like a waste of time. Let him pitch a fe times, won't be good and say "at least we tried." Why not just skip those steps and try someone who at least has half a chance to succeed.

Blackmon, Murphy, Dahl, McMahon, Tapia & Wolters gives COL six out of twelve batters that are lefty, guessing that is the only reason Hart got the call.

If Perdomo gets his command straightened out he is probably the only potential impact lefty in the system currently with a shot at MLB this year.

Jackson forced his way up with the way he’s pitched. Love this move. Another lefty needed to combat Rockies left handed hitters. It’s just, perdomo should be on the team now in place of hart. Command improving, mid to upper 90s, very hard to hit, tremendous upside, and can get righty’s out too.

a player doesn't have to meet the minimum stay of 10 days optioned if replacing a player put on the injured list, and the brewers are taking advantage of that. hart hasn't pitched since 21 april, and was optioned 22 april. taylor williams could be recalled at any point (but we pitched yesterday), but donnie hart couldn't be recalled until meeting that 10-day stay.

If you declared Hart terrible and a waste after 2 previous innings, are you ready to give him a Cy Young after tonight?

Hart’s terrible, just look his stats prior to today’s game. A month or two or three from now perdomo and his fantastic, unhittable stuff will hopefully be dominating big league hitters.

You can close the book on Smith, thank God.

Who is Smith?

You mean Wilson? If so, I could see Wilson ending up in San Antonio. Is another team going to give him a better spot to get to the majors?

He may be back. :devil

Smith isn't part of the quote, so I was really wondering if I blanked on some player named Smith with all the ups and downs.

But the Major League quote is close the book on Keltner, thank god.
