Burnes is cruising. Good to see.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

AUDIO via the Rattler Radio Soundcloud: "Chris Mehring & Kyle Lobner discuss the turning points…and there were a few in a game where the home team was down 8–0 early before staging a comeback, the continuing hitting streak of Brice Turang, the importance of Chad Whitmer's performance in the game, and a few other things. Matt Erickson and Chad Whitmer are part of the clubhouse comments to close out the podcast."

Matt Erickson indicated Yeison Coca is day-to-day, shin contusion on a nerve, as he was hit by a throw while running the basepaths.

I thought RHP Chad Whitmer, in his age 23 season, would have been a candidate to skip Wisconsin and open in Carolina this season. Whitmer, the Yankees' 10th round pick in 2017 out of Southern Illinois, was acquired last June in an out-of-nowhere random trade with New York. The Brewers sent international bonus money to the Yankees, and that means a minimum of $250,000, so the Crew invested in the acquisition.

Brewers Righty Tosses 4.2 In Rehab Outing

By Garrett Greene / Biloxi Shuckers

A Rob Wooten sighting, 33 years old at AA in the Reds' system, but still has that uniform on.

But really though, hope everyone is clicking through to the game summaries, something we stress is worthwhile always. Plenty of nuggets within from Garrett...

Missions pitcher Burch Smith works to return to MLB

By Greg Luca, San Antonio Express Staff Writer

Informative feature, includes this, which no pitcher wants to see written about himself:

As part of the Tommy John operation, the surgeon drills two holes in the bones of the elbow around which the tendon can be wrapped, and Smith said one of those bone tunnels was fractured. Dr. James Andrews, the renowned physician who has performed about 5,000 Tommy John surgeries, told Smith he was only the third person to experience that type of setback. Smith did not need another surgery, but the healing process cost him the 2016 season.
