Giannis is so damn good.

Reading this after the game is over you would have thought we got killed by the Celtics.

No different than Brewers IGTs. Some folks always looking for the negative unfortunately.

You're right. This team has been dominant all year, not the same old Bucks.

That's just human nature. Back in the day we'd sit in the jungle or forest and scan for danger all day long.

Ok, let me put it another way. Kyrie Irving will never be a champion on a team where he has to be "the man". Yes, he won a ring under Lebron's massive shadow (and yes, he did make the shot in game 7, but so did Steve Kerr, IIRC).

Irving last night said "I have to do more. For me, the 22 shots, I should have taken 30."

The Celtics went farther (further?) last year without him. He's immensely talented. He reminds me of Russell Westbrook. Amazingly talented. Could be (and maybe is) a top 5 player, but when the pressure is on, and he has to carry a team, he just wants to play hero ball. He just comes down the court and chucks up one after another ill-advised shot. Sometimes those shots go in, but that is not how great teams operate.

Just .... these last 3 games, he's off balance, rushing shots. Early in the shot clock. Going into the paint and taking contested layups against a defense built specifically to keep him from scoring in the paint.

Irving just feels like he could be in that class of top 10 players, but I don't think he is. But he should be. He has that kind of talent.

Only posting this because I had to look it up :) :

The quick and dirty tip is to use “farther” for physical distance and “further” for metaphorical, or figurative, distance

Kyrie whined his way out of Cleveland because he didn't want to be in Lebron's shadow. The dude has been "me first" his whole career. I would be interested to see him and Durant on the Knicks next year. I'm guessing it doesn't work at all.

Agree. Kyrie/KD and a bunch of nobodies on the Knicks isn't anything to be scared of imo. Now, put them on the Clips and you might have something.

There are lots of interesting sub-plots with coaching adjustments, Kyrie, etc, but my prediction going forward is that the team with Giannis will win.

I was texting a friend about Kyrie. His ability to create off the dribble and score, is top notch. He can be unstoppable at times. All that said, I wouldn't want him on my team. He appears to be a player that doesn't make others better and demands the ball. That can work for some teams/rosters, but I wouldn't want to construct a team like that.

He was absolutely huge in when it came to Cleveland winning the Championship. He hit so many big shots. I think he was forced to be more of team player, most of the time, with Lebron on the team. It's probably going to be his peak. If he could ever figure it out, and become more of a team player, he could again be a huge asset. I don't see that happening.

I've always criticized Kyrie because I hated how much credit he got for being a flashy scorer with so many flaws in his game. I'm glad this series is showing he's not a true superstar. To me, the issue is simple - he's a role player.

Yes, the top scorer on a team can be a role player. Being the iso scorer when you need a bucket is just one of many roles you need to be a successful team. A role player is someone with a few really helpful skills but also with flaws that need to be compensated for by teammates. If that skill happens to be volume scoring, like Kyrie or Iverson or Isaiah Thomas, they are branded as superstars, but you need great defenders and rebounders and floor spacers for that to work or they're just liabilities on defense who take shots from their teammates. Iverson played with guys who didn't want to shoot much anyway, so nobody complained about his chucking ("he had to"), but with the Celtics, Kyrie is just taking his share of shots and a few of Morris's, Horford's, Brown's, and Tatum's as well (though Tatum is chucking now too so I guess working out with Kobe all summer wasn't such a good idea - go figure).

Funny that the Bucks have an average margin of +4.5 in this series. Didn't someone cite Boston's +4.5 during the regular season as evidence of them being elite and a dangerous match-up for the Bucks? I never doubted them after game 1. They are the better team, period, and it's not really close.

Giannis missed 10 games.

Khris missed 5.

Brogdon missed 18 and hasn't played in the playoffs.

Brown missed 24 games.

Ersan missed 15 games.

Snell missed 8 games.

DDV missed 55 games.

Hill only played 47 games for the Bucks.

Mirotic only played 14!

I know some of those guys aren't core pieces, but a lot of them were out at the same time, which was an issue. And yet, the Bucks had an all-time top 20 season. That's pretty incredible. Imagine what they could do if they brought everyone back.

The Celtics bench compared to the Bucks in this series is horrible. One of the biggest reason why the Bucks are dominating the Celtics is because of the play of the bench or lack there of for the Celtics.

I think the Bucks bench are outscoring the Celtics bench by nearly a triple digit lead. Haven't looked at the stats if this is true or not but it is probably really close.

Yup, that George Hill guy is pretty darn good in this role.

Last night was ridiculous for what the bench pulled off in the 3rd. Giannis goes out when they're down 2ish. Then Mid goes out. I just want to make it to the 4th alive and with a chance. Instead the bench lineup gets a 10 pt lead vs a Kyrie lineup. Great performance and showing how playing like a team is important.
