Brent Suter Tommy John Update (August 4: Transferred to AA Biloxi)

RollieTime
Brent Suter was on MLB Central this morning and said that he will be back throwing off a mound in 3-4 weeks and hoping to be fully back by late July or early August. As of right now, he is throwing 4 days per week. Great news on Suter this morning. Hopefully he is able to come back and pitch effectively for the Brewers down the stretch in 2019.

Awesome. Hope he can defy the odds and make it back!
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

another scoreless inning for suter yesterday in his second rehab outing. struck out all three hitters faced on 13 pitches--11 for strikes.

If Brent Suter is able come back later this month to fill any type of meaningful role, whether it’s as an initial out-getter or long reliever, it is going to (hopefully) provide a much needed life preserver towards keeping this pitching staff afloat.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

...and we are now counting on Brent Suter to save our season?

Think about that for a second, let it sink in deep.

Does he play shortstop and lead off now? If not, the comment is misplaced given the current state of the Crew.

No, but team recycling and composting will increase 500% once he returns. :tongue

I wasn’t trying to suggest he is going to “save our season” by any means. I meant the term “afloat” as in figuratively keeping them from drowning. They have starters that are going just 4-5 innings and relievers that are being overused (i.e. Alex Claudio’s use most of the season; Junior Guerra’s now 4 appearances in 5 days). At this point they need some more capable arms in the mix just to take on innings, so if Suter can provide that instead of someone like Aaron Wilkerson remaining on the active roster it will be a positive.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Tom

@Haudricourt

LHP Brent Suter has said all along he thinks he can be ready to pitch for #Brewers in September and with an assignment to

@BiloxiShuckers, it certainly seems reasonable. Don't put anything past him, with his work ethic and smarts.

Feel like he left out important details, so I added.
