Woodpeckers Finish Doubleheader Sweep with 6-3 Win in Nightcap

Rob Henry hit a 3-run homer in the fourth, stretching Carolina's homer streak to six straight games

RHP Christian Taugner has built up quite the resume of low-walk, low-strikeout mound work, 3.89 ERA over 210.1 IP. Not his day in this one though, despite following the same pattern.

For those that don't venture past the Link Report on this forum, thought I'd double-post this from our "Cody Ponce" thread, regarding injury status (currently Ponce's injured list status has not been detailed online).

As a general rule, here's how injury updates have been handled by the Brewers (and by Brewerfan staff) in the past.

If an injury happens during the game -- via HBP, collision, running out a play, etc., normally when an in-game injury leads to an immediate exit and a subsequent DL stint, word gets out nearly 100% of the time.

If a minor league player on the 40-man roster goes on the DL, we've seen where the MLB front office will comment on the status of the injury if asked by credentialed press, and we've sometimes nudged the beat guys to do so. Troy Stokes' mild oblique injury is a recent example. Now, could we nudge Adam and/or Tom and Todd on Ponce, yes we could, but I personally choose to save my request bullets in that regard and limit those nudges to 40-man players.

We've learned from past experience not to put the affiliate announcers on the spot via reach-out to them. Now, it's quite possible they've mentioned the nature of a DL stint (OK, "IL" stint) on the air, but it's tough to have ears on every single minor league broadcast.

Ponce is on social media, you could actually reach out to a player on social media and see if you get a response.

I don't think HIPPA is absolutely at play here, as every spring in the media guide the Brewers list the nature of every single games-missed IL stint regardless of player level or prospect status.
