A Burnes option and Wilkerson start Monday seems agreeable. Only question is if Houser is coming up Saturday or if Anderson is getting the ball.

 

Chase has been in bullpen mode for a month now. I think if you start him, he's only going to give you 4 innings/60 pitches max, especially since he pitched yesterday. The only question is who goes down for Houser. I imagine Petricka is sent down Saturday when Wilson returns from paternity leave. Wilkerson would have been the other obvious choice, but with what he did today, he may have earned himself more time.

CC strongly hinted in the post game that Burnes was going down. Said they needed to have a "longer conversation" on what to do next with him.

 

Got to believe that Houser will be getting the start either Saturday or Monday......

Late to the party. A couple thought.

 

1.I think it's time for Burnes to figure it out in San Antonio. I guess it's possible he's tipping his pitches but it seems like most of his dingers given up is a result of bad location. Replace him with Guerra or Chase. Even he wouldn't give up that many dingers.

 

2. I am thoroughly convinced that the only reason we got swept by the Angels is because we were forced to use a DH.

 

On another Brewer forum someone posted photos of Grandal positioning his mitt for a low ball and Burnes is leaving the ball up and in the middle of the plate. You can't keep giving MLB batters cookies and not get burned. I agree, send Burnes down to figure it out.

It isn't easy to sweep teams so I'm happy with taking these series.
