That’s two up and 1 down. Who else went down, Petricka?

If they needed a starter I figured it would be Houser.

I'm going to make an off the wall prediction that Wilkerson is available for the next few days in long relief, and goes back down on the 19th or 20th for Houser who immediately comes and up and starts.

Just a (probably incorrect) hunch.

That is 100% my prediction as well. I mean, Wilkerson hasn't been bad, but Houser's been better, and has a lot more upside. It wouldn't have made any sense to call up Wilkerson now if they intended on starting him against the Dodgers in Freddy's spot. This way, he provides multi-inning coverage over the next few days, and can go back down for Houser Saturday.

Please god Houser come up and be that random Fiers/Eldred rookie who pitches lights out and saves the season. (Sorry but kinda not sorry for being dramatic; this staff sucks.)

In no way should this be interpreted as an indication that I think this can actually happen, but there's a chance!

That would be pretty awesome. I just want the Carlos Gomez trade to be the gift that keeps on giving :)

Doesn't make sense, even in blue.

Boy, that missed the mark. Gotta learn to read. :laughing

Petricka to Appleton, which makes it seem like he either won't be down long or it's a paper move for a couple days until he goes back to San Antonio.

Where is Houser's ML service time at? I know he pitched a bit before his Tommy John and was up and down last year, I guess it likely doesn't really matter but if he were inserted into the rotation soon and excelled it might. They got a break with his added option I am sure they will make sure it counts.

The more I think about it it does make sense. The Brewers wouldn't waste the roster space to call a guy up just to have him sit and do nothing until Saturday.

His results have been mixed so far, but according to the eye test Anderson has looked way better in the bullpen.

Yeah, it seems he is guaranteed a big role with this starting staff and the new baseball (okay that is just me) as the multi-inning guy when the game is still in doubt.

Better than? He looked pretty good in the rotation two years ago. Last year he would have been a nice starter if his HR rate was down just a little bit even.

Stearns was in the both yesterday and was talking about peralta. I wasn't paying close attention but it sounded like it could just be 1 start skipped.

Yes, there is that chance.

Of course it’s early, but the way he’s pitched in his starts, why not?

With his stuff it wouldn’t shock me if he continued to pitch well, maybe enough time has past since TJ, and he’s matured as a pitcher. At worst at least he’s stretched to potentially pitch 6.

Even last year he was a useful starter. Brewers were 16-14 in Anderson's starts. I get that management saw they had 3 potential young stud starters and wanted to give all 3 the opportunity to secure a spot. But so far, only one of the three has performed up to even the lowest of standards. What's Anderson doing in the pen, if they throw out washed up Matt Albers in a 0-0 game against the Dodgers instead of Anderson? Get Chase back in the rotation. At worst he's a better than average 5th starter, and if he reverts to his 16-17 form he's a mid rotation guy.
