Huira another bomb but man... Ks are piling up for him! Entering game 2% bb 43% k with 2 more tonight so far. For a guy who hasn’t k’d more than 20% in a season or a stop... wondering if he solely selling out for power? He should be far to advanced a hitter to be making that poor of contact. Good thing we have Moose. I don’t care if average is high & hitting bombs if you aren’t able to but ball in play at that rate. Super early in season & small sample as of today if injuries struck... probably 3-4 OFs I call up before him until he cuts that down

Proud member since 2003 (geez ha I was 14 then)

FORMERLY BrewCrewWS2008 and YoungGeezy don't even remember other names used

He just wants to keep Corey Ray company.

I swear, sometimes it seems like this organization pulls aside the guys with good hit tools and tells them "Forget everything you thought you knew ... because DINGERS!!!"

Despite the crazy high K% over his first 50 AAA at bats, Hiura is still OPS-ing 0.974 with close to a 0.300 BA despite only drawing 1 measly walk. Based on the K #'s I'm guessing he's just chasing too much outside the zone.

Corey Ray on the other hand.....dude needs a mulligan on the first two weeks of season down there!

And yes, Erceg is having a fantastic start to the season at the plate - I think I remember several articles/scouting services wondering out loud over the winter whether he should scrap 3B and try pitching...perhaps that was a bit premature.

Julio Garcia does the job, not pleased we called out the 0-for-18 start Monday, kudos, young man. Maybe move Tristen Lutz out of the 3-hole for a bit to take some pressure off?

Erceg quietly having a nice start to the season.

He's been hitting really well.

A key thing thus far - his walk rate is way up. I hope that means he's recognizing and laying off bad pitches. That would be a big step for him.

Of course, it's only a dozen games thus far. Don't want to get too excited. But it's nice to see.

Another thing about Erceg that I like, is that - unlike so many young hitters - he doesn't strike out that much.

Yea, I first noticed that the other day when he had 3 walks- been keeping my eye on that ever since. High BB rate/ low K rate will serve him well. I always liked his swing gong back to T Rats days, as with all young hitters just a matter of putting it all together. He has easy power, similar to Yelich, so that will take car of itself.
