2019-04-12: Brewers (Burnes) at Dodgers (Urías) [Brewers win, 8-5 -- Burnes gives up three more HRs, but Grandal and the offense come to the rescue]

Eye Black
You'd think the umpires union would be concerned about the safety of these plate umps getting hit in the face all the time...maybe they should do something about that...

Come to think of it, the field umps are in danger too...can't have that...

I’ve never heard of an automated strike zone getting a concussion. Just sayin’...

So what happens if two umps in a game get hurt? I mean, we’ve lost one in several games this week.

1 stands behind the pitcher, 1 in the field

I wonder what we could have done for pitching with the 18 million they gave to Grandal but the guy has earned his money to this point no doubt.

Not Joe Kelly, he cost $27 million.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Holy crap! Moose just bunted to beat the shift! Baseball purists rejoice!

I mean, he was a dead duck with a good throw, but still ... ;)

At least he proved that a ballplayer actually has an idea that it might work...

Just catching up on the IGT, wondering if I can get an assist on this. I know Grandal bunted against the shift in Cincinnati (but was thrown out by the pitcher). Did Travis Shaw also try to bunt against the shift at some point this season? I heard he did, but don’t recall seeing it.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Would be awesome to not lean on Hader for 6 outs and lose him for the rest of the weekend...but who else makes sense for the 8th?

Barnes maybe?? Anderson? (ducks for cover...)

edit: guess it'll be Hader for another extended outing...sure would be nice to add a healthy and effective Jeffress to the mix out there soon.

Tempting to save Hader at least for the top of the order rather than starting out facing 7-8-9

That's what I was thinking, too...unfortunately there's no reason for CC to have faith in anyone else for a cleanish 8th inning. Now Hader will have to work without a net for 6 outs and his 2nd inning will come against the top of their order. Lots of lefties to face though...
