College Basketball POY

No, not the men's side, but the women's side. Megan Gustafson quietly had herself an outstanding college career culminating into a POY award. Nice to see someone who grew up in rural northern Wisconsin make it big. DSHA's Arike Ogunbowle also an All-American. Two of the top-five college players nationally from Wisconsin.

Kinda sad that UW doesn't have a better women's program. It seems like the state turns out a lot of really good girl's high school players every year.

Barry isn't that interested in the non-revenue sports. It takes a lot for him to get more aggressive with regard to those sports.

She was from my neck of the woods (my alma mater plays hers). And one of my friend's daughters went to school with her.

I believe Barry once stated a list of sports which would be a focus of emphasis. I believe men's football, basketball, hockey and CC. Women's volleyball, basketball, hockey and CC. Spent money to increase the seating capacity for volleyball. OTOH, yes not very aggressive in dealing with the ongoing women's basketball coaching situation over the years.

He did go out and spend money and aggressively pursue an elite coach for the Wrestling program. It's a niche sport without a doubt, but it should be a profitable one in the Big 10. Penn State went out and paid a head coach a million per and they've become a program that sells out every meet and has become a revenue producing program.
