2019 Green Bay Packers draft preview and predictions

Pretty sure Demvoksey had Dillard at #12 and Simmons at #30.

Woah, that would be pretty good if Green Bay could come out with that pair. I'd still guess that getting Simmons at #30 is too much of a stretch. There are good teams picking once we get past #20. Some of those teams do have glaring holes that need filling, but I have to figure that there will be a few that doesn't have to fill a need immediately and can sit back and take a player like Simmons.

I don't think Simmons gets past the Colts or Raiders (24 or 27). If the Packers really want him they will have to move up from #30 into the 20-23 range (I don't like moving down from #12 to take Simmons unless we can move up from #30 as part of the trade).

I'm hoping they trade down from 12. They need to fill a lot of holes.

I would like to see them trade up for one of the top tier defenders, that's where you find the hall of famer's. Of course that's where you blow everything and end up with a bust as well. It doesn't seem like they they are looking that way though and since all signs point to QB's sliding past us I am prepared for some disappointment but hoping for Hockensen or Sweat to get to #12.

Let the rumor mill churn; this sounds like a FANTastic opportunity, assuming they go OL or Edge with the 12th pick.

Sounds like either a Jeffery Simmons or Noah Fant move to me. Seems like there would have to be more than 1 target, because you can't risk moving up this early and then have that guy taken ahead of the pick. I'd figure they would have to get up to #21 to feel pretty safe that one of the two will be available. I could see Fant going to the Titans at #19. Seahawks are picking at #21. Not sure if Simmons would go higher than that or not. Seattle only have five picks and would probably be open to a trade down. Trade value chart says a fair swap would be something like the Packers getting #21 and #159 (5th) and the Seahawks getting #30 and #75 (3rd).

At #12, I would take an O-Line. Williiams, Dilliard, Taylor in that order. Now it is possible that all three could be gone at that point, if they are, that would mean somebody is there that shouldn't be, Hockenson, Sweat or Bush. In that scenario, I would run to the podium with Sweat in big bold letters.

At #30 is a depends. Did they get an O-Line at #12? No? Get one here! Lindstrom would be ideal. If OL is covered, what TE is available, none? How about a WR or S?

I know people are screaming about Simmons, just screams Justin Harrell 2.0 to me!

Also, it seems a few have a QB like Lock at #30 being selected, I can only hope he's gone by then. It would be less than ideal to draft a QB in the first round with Rodgers still in GB. As great at the position as he is, he comes across as a little "delicate" and drafting a QB in the first round would do nothing but cause controversy and start the same situation that happened when he was drafted with Brett at QB. No thanks!

I hate that the Cardinals are using all of their allotted time to make the first pick.

Right. The NFL should adopt a 3min clock for the 1st pick. Waiting 10mins for a phone call for a trade up is unnecessary. Any team that is going to do so has had Months to commit to a trade up and make it happen.

oh man. Thank you John Gruden....

This is an awesome pick for the Packers. Keep pushing some of those studs down the board...maybe 4 QB's go off the board(about a 5 pct chance that happens) and a top 5-6 talent falls to us.

Can't believe they passed on Allen for this guy. I mean, he's a stud, but I think the Raiders could have gotten him with their 2nd 1st round pick.

Lindstrom would make for a dominant player, but with Madison and more importantly the signing of Turner, it'd be hard to justify a guard that high when their line looks pretty set. Maybe a Tackle who can play guard.

Don't get me wrong, when you pick like the Cowboys did for a few years there with Frederick(Who I thought was a terrible pick in the 1st after watching him) and Zach Martin, it sure as hell helps out your running and as a result the passing game.

I'd still rather see skill players for Rodgers.

But already, the guy I was hoping we'd see move up to grab and grab, Josh Allen...he MAY start looking more realistic.

Ok, now do you start to think about seeing what the Giants may want for that 6th pick? IF you believe that Allen is an ELITE pass rusher, you have to. I don't know that they believe that, but this guy can run down the field with TE's and he put up huge numbers in the SEC against elite teams without other defensiv eplayers to take the focus off him.

I know it won't happen, but I'm drooling over the chance we get our Mack, Von type player in Allen.

White to TB. Worst secret in the draft. Nearly every draft had that one pegged.

And now JONES??????

The 4th best QB....the stars are aligning. Ed Oliver, Allen...these guys become infinitely more plausible now for the Packers. I'd guess someone moves up for the Lock and Haskins.

Oh my. Do you hold pat and wait for the stud to drop to 12 or jump on going after Allen or Oliver....

If you think Allen is a Mack-type player or Oliver is a Donald type player, you kinda have to, don't you?

Allen isn't a 4-3 DE though, so not sure if Jax is going to take him, Denver is set...it could happen.
