Via Chris Mehring's Media Notes:

LHP Michael Mediavilla placed on Injured List (Retroactive to 5/8)

LHP Wilfred Salaman transferred from Rocky Mountain to Wisconsin

Without providing further details, Wisconsin broadcaster Chris Mehring described Michael Mediavailla's placement as "precautionary" on Thursday's postgame podcast.

Via the Missions:

INF Blake Allemand transferred from San Antonio to Rocky Mountain

OF Troy Stokes Jr. activated from the Injured List

The Brewers making liberal use of the 35-man roster limit for the Rocky Mountain paper roster. That will become more difficult after the start of the Pioneer League season on June 14th.

Mudcats Press Release:

Roster Update: Dula reinstated; Meister released

The Brewers released RHP Christian Meister and reinstated RHP Chris Dula from the Carolina IL today

Dula, 26, had been sidelined since an April 13th outing. Below is the post from his agent Joshua Kusnick in late March:

Chris Dula made high a

I'm stunned

Plan was to keep him in extended til velo climbed. He was WAYYYYYYY ahead of where we all assumed he'd be. I'm pumped. Rule 5 year but is on a 2 year milb contract. I cant wait to see him in season!!!

Via BrewCrewBall, the backstory on the Chris Dula signing last December.

Meister, 25, the former Indians farmhand, was signed by the Brewers late last June. Walks have been an issue throughout his pro career, including stints in Australia the past two off-seasons. Hopefully he'll get another opportunity elsewhere.

Hoping for the best from Dula! I remember working in Dbacks minor league spring training when every played wanted to go watch Jason Neighborgall throw BP sessions. Of course, they all wanted to stand behind the pitcher, not the catcher. His career numbers were insane

Activity at Biloxi:

Both RHP Tyler Spurlin and young catcher Alexander Alvarez placed on the 7-day IL. Spurlin's placement was retroactive to May 13th, Alvarez' to the 14th.

Taking their spots are a returning RHP Justin Topa (via the Rocky Mountain paper roster) and making his 2019 debut catcher Robie Rojas, who has been with the Shuckers all along as a bullpen catcher in effect. Technically Rojas had been on the Arizona Brewers "Blue" roster.

Brewers farm director Tom Flanagan said Corey Ray could miss anywhere from 4-6 weeks with that jammed finger that landed him on the DL again at Class AAA San Antonio.

He'd been trying to play through it, but it had gotten to the point where a shutdown made the most sense.

“RHP Tristan Archer has been traded to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for cash considerations.”

Hope that means Nate Griep gets promoted to AAA

Doubtful at this time. This was all about a number crunch at AAA.

Fifteen (!) pitchers currently active, along with just 11 position players.

That number 15 will need an adjustment down to 14 when Jimmy Nelson is officially considered as reported after his option.

Then you have RHP Michael Tonkin, RHP Jon Olczak, and LHP Brad Kuntz all stashed on the Rocky Mountain roster.

Total bloat.

Jimmy Nelson's option is formally in effect, and he is now one of 15 pitchers on the Missions' 26-man roster.

I say "26" because Travis Shaw is the 11th position player for now (rehab assignment).

Catcher Skyler Ewing back to his taxi squad / bullpen catcher role via the magic of the available spot on the Rocky Mountain roster.
