I actually have grown to enjoy west coast road trips. Everyone in my house is asleep and it's a very peaceful time to sit back and enjoy a game.

I'm torn because I too get to enjoy a peaceful time watching a west coast Brewer game, but my day starts early and I oft don't make it through a west coast game.

As for today, I hope Yeli homers today to break the record.

Would never bet on a player hitting a home run in a given game, but you have to like his chances to have a shot at it. Saw this on Twitter so maybe someone can fact check it, but I believe Yelich’s line against the Reds last season was .482/.532/1.018 with 7 HR, 2 cycles, and 17 RBI in 14 games.

Yelich destroyed the Reds worse than any team besides the Tigers last year, .429/.667/1.714 for a 2.381 OPS. Though only 12 PAs against the Tigers compared to 62 against the Reds.

Christian has 50 career PAs against Roark (his most against any single pitcher) with a 282/440/308 line, so lots of single & walks so far with a lone double as his only XBH against Tanner.

Should have kept my mouth shut.

Cards didnt really cash in that much though. Had bases loaded and no one out still in a 4-3 game and didnt score any more. That was with DeJung, Ozuna, Molina batting. Ouch.

Pirates have some nice arms in the bullpen

Pittsburgh back on top 5-4 on a Moran HR! Nobody out in the bottom of the 8th.

I was at 3 of the 4 opening series games and dealt with red birds fans every night. I have to admit it was a lot more pleasant than the Cubs experience. I didn't get any animosity at all and it was usually just stuff like "Who is this guy" "Is this guy any good" "where is a good place for ___"

There were a TON of their fans at all the games and just seemed way less obnoxious.

Worthless Pirates allow an unearned run to tie the game and then allow the winning run on a passed ball

It was Cervelli, wasn't it? I can't stand that guy. Couldn't stand Russell Martin when he was there either. I have as much animosity for that team as I do for the Cubs.

Braun seems to be having trouble picking up Roark’s slider. Really chased the first one hard.

Edit: The four seam fastball not so much. That might be the last fastball he sees from Roark.
