AUDIO via the 'Turn a Pair Baseball Podcast': "Aaron Kurcz, a former 10th round pick of the Chicago Cubs, was out of affiliated baseball. He made a video of himself pitching and posted it on twitter. As a result he's now pitching for the Brewers AA team in Biloxi. He shares the details along with stories from his time playing college ball with Bryan & Bryce Harper."

Brewers' Futures Game rep has roots of his power revival in St. Louis

Derrick Goold, St. Louis Post-Dispatch

This is among the gold standard (no pun intended off the Cardinals' beat writer's last name) for feature articles. Goold informs us what Devin Williams thought he was going to be told about when he learned of his Futures Game assignment, but also his development, Tommy John travails, current repertoire (100 MPH) and so much more.

As a prospect and future executive, Cooper Hummel understands the importance of analytics

The soon-to-be 25 year old is coming off a career year with Double-A Biloxi

By Kyle Lesniewski, BrewCrewBall

Quotes throughout from the underrated (by most) Hummel...

I rate Hummel very high - honestly think that he is a contender at 1B/OF in the very near future.

He’s an intriguing guy to watch. Hopefully he opens the year in AAA and tears it up. It would be good to have some competition between Ray, Taylor, and Hummel for the 5th outfield spot. Maybe it’ll open up a possible Gamel trade with these three all knocking on the door in 2020.

Part of me wonders if Hummel might not be a sleeper to take the first base job. His approach is very good, and he sure draws a lot of walks...

C Max McDowell, 26, was Milwaukee's 13th round pick in 2015 out of the University of Connecticut, and spent half of 2018 and all of 2019 in Milwaukee. McDowell was one of several players for which we had shared links to "hometown" articles, as their own communities follow the journey. McDowell was featured in plenty of highlight play packages from the Timber Rattlers, Mudcats, and Shuckers during his tenure.

Nice landing spot for Max (Yankees), congrats!
