Plan was to keep him in extended til velo climbed. He was WAYYYYYYY ahead of where we all assumed hed be. Im pumped. Rule 5 year but is on a 2 year milb contract. I cant wait to see.him in season!!!

I think you answered your own (implicit) question on why High-A .... Its his Rule 5 year.

 

The Brewers need to see if he can be ready/ worthy of a roster spot after the season or not. The days of hiding good talents in the low minors and sneaking that talent thru to another year organizational control are long over so the Brewers (like all organizations) need to make choices and put out some challenges to players in order to see what is there (or not).

 

My fingers are crossed for Chris & I hope it all works out for him.
