The Cardinals didn't celebrate clinching a playoff spot today. Instead they're waiting to clinch the division.

They did in very classy fashion with actual glassware...

Cheers to the start of a week long hangover for the Cardinals!

IMO this is a way better way to celebrate rather than spraying it all over everything.

Definitely, especially better than the everyone wear safety goggles and spray champaign method which is the second worst celebration in the game. Everyone smoking a cigar being by far the worst, just disgusting and trashy.

17 games over .500 (87-70) and are one win away from a playoff spot.

With that win, the 2019 Brewers move into a tie for 9th place in regular season wins tying the 1983 and 1988 teams respectively. With 3 more wins, they would tie a 3-seasons best record of averaging 90 wins. With 4, it will be the most successful run in Brewers history. Amazing what El Cheapo Attanasio and Dumbo Counsell are pulling off.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Nothing will beat two clubhouse celebrations in a matter of a week in the St. Louis and Chicago clubhouses, but I am totally down for video of Eric Thames shotgunning Miller Lites in the Cincy visitor's clubhouse tomorrow night.

Too bad we didn't finish with the Pirates to end it and we could have made the complete rounds in 2 years.

MAGIC NUMBER OF 1 BABY!!!

Totally random question. If we made the World Series, is there any optimism Yelich could DH? They said 6 weeks to start running. He says he’s pain free but healing. Theoretically, he could try light hitting in 2 weeks to test it.

This is the optimism thread. This needs to be changed to "when we make the world series"

For Wisconsin sports fans, that could be one hell of a weekend. The Badgers play at Ohio State on October 26 and the Packers play at Kansas City on October 27.

18 out of 20? Are you kidding me???
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Brewers are just one game back with 3 to play.

Even though the roles aren't all the same it's the same cast of characters from 2018. This time the Cubs will steal a game from the Cards over the final weekend opening the door for the Brewers. In game 163, the Brewers will prevail and be your 2019 NL Central Champions.
