My Predictions:

2019 Brewers Season Predictions

Win-Loss Record: 92-70

Playoffs (Yes, No): Yes

Highest Playoff Level Achieved: NLCS

All-Star Game Representative(s): Yelich, Shaw, Hader

Offensive Player of the Year: Yelich

Starting Pitcher of the Year: Burnes

Relief Pitcher of the Year: Hader

Most Surprising Player: Braun

Most Disappointing Player: Albers

Brewers are going to have a very potent offense with Yelich putting up another MVP season, Braun hitting 30 homers while hitting .290, Grandal giving a big offensive boost from the catching position, and Shaw taking a step forward from last season.

The starting staff will prove to be a strength with Chacin leading the rotation with Burnes and Woodruff solidifying themselves as rotation pieces for years to come. Peralta will show promise, but have an up and down year similar to last season. Peralta’s big break-out season will be on the horizon in 2020.

The bullpen will be the achilles heel for the Brewers this season. Hader will dominate all season long, but Jeffress will regress from his fantastic season last season. Albers will continue his struggles and cost us a few games early in the season and be cut by June. The Brewers will have a difficult time finding reliable options early in the season and be forced to make multiple midseason moves to solidify the bullpen for down the stretch. It’ll come back to bite the Brewers later in the season though when the Cardinals win the division by two games over the Brewers and the Brewers are forced to play in the Wild Card Game.

I’m looking forward to seeing everybody’s predictions for the 2019 season! Go Brewers!

I’ll play.

Win-Loss Record: 87-75

Playoffs (Yes, No): Yes

Highest Playoff Level Achieved: NLCS

All-Star Game Representative(s): Hader, Yelich, Grandal (Wow, we *could* be have a lot of guys make the all star team this year.)

Offensive Player of the Year: Shaw. He doesn’t even make the all star team because of all the bigger names at 3B in the NL, but he outhits all those guys in the end.

Starting Pitcher of the Year: Chacin. Weirdly he feels like almost a dark horse for this. But I think he will be the one guy to put up solid starts consistently.

Relief Pitcher of the Year: Taylor Williams becomes an official electric dude.

Most Surprising Player: Dubon. Ends the year as starting SS.

Most Disappointing Player: Peralta. Can’t hack in the rotation (yet?), ends the year in AAA.

I think Brewers are more talented this year but this season is going to be a grind. The NL Central is so loaded. We could finish first or fourth.

Interesting choice of Cain for the most disappointing player. I was contemplating picking him as well since I think there might be a slight regression in his offensive numbers that could be a little concerning with 4 years left on his contract. He does turn 33 early this season and his ability to beat out a lot of infield hits might turn into being out by half a step in the next season or two. It’ll be interesting to see if his legs will allow him to do what he has always done or if it will start to be an issue for him as early as this season.

I only have a few thoughts, not a list of predictions on all of these items...

- Brandon Woodruff looks to be a disappointment based on what I'm seeing here. I see a lot of people tabbing him as their starting pitcher of the year. I think he's the first starter removed from the rotation, non-injury related. I think he once again provides tremendous value to the team pitching in relief as the season winds on.

- I've said it elsewhere but since this looks like an official prediction thread, I'll put it here. Freddy Peralta is going to be looked on as this team's ACE by year's end. Way too much misunderstanding here of just how good he is. Not a day goes by where someone doesn't post something completely inaccurate about him. Thankfully they get to play the games and this will bear itself out on the field.

- Continuing the theme of consolidating predictions into this space, I believe Keston Hiura will be the Brewers 2nd best hitter, behind only Yelich, from the day he's called up. By season's end he'll be a fixture in the lineup and the playing time juggling will be between Shaw, Moose, and Aguilar. Those 3 will occupy 1st and 3rd based on splits and career success against the opposing pitcher.

Interesting choice of Cain for the most disappointing player. I hated writing his name in there but just a gut feeling with him. Hope I'm dead wrong though. He is an absolute joy to watch play baseball.

87 Wins. I'm guessing a dip in bullpen from last year combined with the NL being so tough as the reason for a dip in wins.

No Playoffs, 3rd in Central

ASG: Yelich, Grandal, Hader

Offensive player: Yelich

Starter of the year: Burnes

Reliever: Hader

Surprising player: Braun

Disappointing: Jesus Aguilar or Knebel/Jeffress but I'm going to cut them slack due to injury it's not their fault so to speak. Could include Davies/Anderson too but frankly I don't expect much so I won't be disappointed.

My 2019 Brewers Predictions:

Win-Loss Record: 97-65

Playoffs (Yes, No): Yes, Central Champs

Highest Playoff Level Achieved: World Series

All-Star Game Representative(s): Yelich, Shaw, Grandal, Hader, Woodruff

Offensive Player of the Year: Shaw

Starting Pitcher of the Year: Woodruff (18-10, 2.86 ERA)

Relief Pitcher of the Year: Hader

Most Surprising Player: Braun. I think he starts a little slow, then heats up after the AS break to the tune of an overall .300 AVG, 32 HRs, 100 RBIs. I also think Taylor Williams is going to break out as a high-end leverage-innings reliever this year.

Most Disappointing Player: Aguilar. I think he still puts up solid numbers, but ends up leveling off at somewhere between his 2018 first half and second half stats.
