NCAA Tournament

Figured it could use it's own thread for topics that aren't necessarily WI or Marquette.

My bracket has a whole lot of chalk, actually looked for upsets, just not feeling them this year. In 3 regions I had 1vs2 matchups.

My final 4:

Duke

Gonzaga

Tennessee

North Carolina

Duke over North Carolina in the final.

Who do you have?

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I have the same final four, but with UNC winning it all.

Watching this play in game and this one coach is spending a lot of time standing on the court. It has me wondering, what happens if an opposing teams player accidentally, or "accidentally", runs into him? Is it a play on, a technical, or some other penalty?
Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

Kentucky

Virginia

MSU (and they won’t beat Duke to get there)

Michigan

I fully expect to be wrong on one of the Michigan teams just because that matchup seems so unlikely. But I think one is there.

Duke seems destined to disappoint. There are so dependent on everyone major being on the court or they struggle.

Not 100% sure of college rule, but it would almost have to be a tech. No way could it just be play on, as they're not supposed to be on the court.

Was actually pretty easy to find... This is NFHS so high school, but I'm sure college is similar.

Rule 10 Section 5 - Bench Technical

The head coach is responsible for his/her own conduct and behavior, as well as substitutes, disqualified team members, and all other bench personnel. Bench personnel, including the head coach shall not:

Art 2: Enter the court area unless by permission of an official to attend an injured player

Penalty: The officials shall warn the head coach unless the offense is judged to be major, in which case a technical foul shall be ruled.

I would guess that contacting a player would make it a major offense.

I really like some huge cinderella story double digit seed making the Elite 8 this year...not sure why...but I could see it. There are a ton of 3-7 seeds that I just think are weak and should lead to lots of 10+ seed teams in the round of 32 and so on.

Wow did anyone catch the end of the Auburn game? Reading the box score NMS got the ball down 2, got fouled on a three, missed free throw, made three throw, then missed a three throw, and lastly got a three off in one second after a rebound.

I mean that can't possibly be accurate.

UPDATE:

Wow, that literally happened and he airballed the game winning three. I don't want to say they choked, but wow...what an absolute blown opportunity.

NMSU player had what looked like a wide open layup to tie that preceded the foul on the 3 point shot too.

Belmont with the worst "hold til last shot" play I've probably ever seen.

Absolutely terrible...

I picked NMSU and Belmont. I also have Murray Sate so cute another near lose for the underdog. I was really confident in those picks too...like 75% confident. Sigh

This Badgers game is one of the worst officiated games I have seen in a long time. Should be at least six more fouls on Oregon, including a technical for the crap that Amin pulled in the first half. Then this charge on Happ... complete garbage, worse than the blocking call on Davison in the first half.
