RIP King Kong Bundy

One of the stars of the brief period in which I watched wrestling. Only 61 years old.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Of the 80's WWF big men, I can only think of a few that are still breathing. Abdullah The Butcher, The One Man Gang (Akeem), and Kamala are all I can come up with. It's not surprising that that size and lifestyle would shorten one's life. King Kong Bundy really defied the odds by living this long.

It's hard to believe that Bundy was in his late 20s at Wrestlemania 2. He shaved his head long before it was cool and was so big, he looked at least 10 years older.

He was a tremendous heel and I really enjoyed the energy and menace he brought to the ring.

Not sure about back in his heyday, but a couple friends of mine met KKB at events in recent years & really enjoyed it.

As much as WM3 was memorable for Uecker's shenanigans & Hogan slamming Andre the Giant, I'll never forget Bundy splashing Little Beaver in the midget match. Pretty sure Ueck was on the mic with Jesse Ventura & Gorilla Monsoon for that one & got in some classic Ueck one liners.
