Really surprised Miller let this go. It just works so well, team named the Brewers sponsored by a beer company. Money talks though I guess. Frankly I've thought for years as if their sales actually increase at all by stadium naming rights for already mega brands like Miller, Pepsi, etc.

I'm an American Family customer and have to admit I've been very happy with them over the years.

I actually am just switching off American Family, I shopped around and they were the most expensive of all quotes I received...and frankly they weren't even close.

I'm generally turned off by insurance companies, this just feels like another insurance company that has so much stinkin money that they don't even know what to do with it...so we'll buy some additional naming rights.

I'm also wondering if they'll start selling Busch products at the stadium. All sorts of gross......

Miller Park has a much better ring to it and fits the team much better. However it is in the best interest of the people of Milwaukee and surrounding areas to have the best deal for naming rights that they can get. I suspect if Miller was still a Milwaukee company, they would have tried harder to keep the name.

If it had to change, I wish Epic had gone for the rights. Epic Park has a nice ring to it.

Directly after "NOOOOO!!!" ... this was actually my first thought. I wonder if their ability to sell alternate beer varieties is now wide open?

Wisconsin is knee-deep in the craft beer movement ... they could probably do really by offering unqiue Wisconsin brands and otherwise. Going to a game and drinking craft beer is probably a big turn on for a lot of folks.

Still, I will always call it Miller Park I think.

This is a shock and quite saddening. I know it's 'just a name' but I always liked that we had avoided the corporate-sounding ballpark names. Hopefully it will at least be something like "American Family Field at Brewers Park".

Agree. Just showing how much money they're overcharging their customers.

I also thought of the beer sales at the stadium. I wonder if Miller didn't like how much they've brought in other brands the last few years with them trying to appeal the craft beer world. Note that I'm no expert on this, maybe they're only selling 'craft' beers that Miller has purchased or something, IDK. Just popped in my head as an idea.

Or, maybe Miller said all we care about is being able to maintain our sales rights, not the actual stadium name

Beer themed name for the Brewers just made so much sense. But then again, Miller Park is also just a coporate name albeit a catchier one so it's not like I really care a whole lot. Just hoping it's a significant bump in money.

Look for a full change on their primary logo. Without the Miller connection, no need to keep the Miller M & Barley.

I really hope you're right, and that the M and barley isn't something the club actually does on its own. Not exactly a club with a great track record of logos; they did find the best one in spots, but then moved on to some of the worst.

Maybe they will make enough money from this that they will be able to get rid of the five county sales tax by the year 2030!

When the Brewers start calling for a new state of the art ballpark that the city/counties/state needs to fork over to keep the Brewers?

Just when I give the Brewers credit for being a good organization, they firmly plant the corporate head up the corporate ass...

What is the difference between what Only Money Matters stadium and what MillerCoors was offering? It's possible with all the changes with Miller there is no longer any link to the Milwaukee community that MillerCoors cared to maintain... But I'd be much more down with Harley Davidson Park/Field/Stadium than this colossal CF...

I'm sure lots of people are still going to call it Miller Park. Maybe that's why Miller doesn't want to pay sponsorship fees anymore. They've already got their brand imprinted on the franchise, regardless of official status.

Wish there was a craft beer guild with a cool name to get the rights. You guys need to drink more craft beer so they have more money! I live in NYC, so I can't do much to help.

Am Fam is such a cognitive disconnect as compared to Miller Park / Brewers.

They're not even the first insurance company I think of with respect to the Brewers (which is probably a silver lining for that other company).

I don't know how often I would tell people I'm going to Miller Park...but I suspect I'm going to say "Brewers game" or still say Miller Park instead (at least for the first few years).

"American Family Insurance, proactively pitched the Brewers an incredibly rich offer for the future naming rights to Miller Park, and we’re proud to welcome American Family to the family we’ve been part of for generations," MillerCoors said in a statement.

That above is from jsonline. Maybe this is simply an offer they couldn't refuse? If American Family came out and offered a crazy high numbers that was something like 3 or 4 times what MillerCoors was offering, hard to turn that down? Hopefully that gets spun into building a competitive roster.
