The Yankees plan to use LeMahieu as a versatile player around the infield. They will use him at second base, first base and third base.

I think this all but seals it that MM will not be a Yankee. Torres, Andujar, DJ, Did, Tulo all for 3 spots. You could make room, but adding DJ and MM considering in house options wouldn't make a lot of sense.

Totally agree. But they do have the option now of signing Manny and then trading Torres, Adujar, or Didi for some pitching or prospects.

I'm not sure why New York teams keep signing 2B's they don't need.

maybe middle infielders is the new market inefficiency.

[sarcasm]I figured it out. Cashman asked for Hiura in exchange for Sonny Gray, and Stearns told them he was off limits and that he was planning on signing a stop-gab 2B to bridge the gap in between outbursts of laughter. Cashman hung up the phone and said, "I'll show him... I'll show them all!" and proceeded to sign ALL the free agent 2B out of pure spite.[/sarcasm]

Replace Cashman with George Steinbrenner and I think you have almost word-for-word part of a Seinfeld episode when Costanza worked for the Yankees...
