What's bugging you? [2019]

hawing
I am not a grammar cop, but when I read professional correspondence strewn with randomly capitalized words, I cringe.

I think that's why I so often have a stiff neck.

Probably explains why we have one poster here who refuses to ever capitalize. Or use punctuation.

I think the new Taco Bell "gang" commercials are bad, really bad.

I am also surprised our media is allowing Taco Bell to glamorize gangs in any manner.

Was not sure what commercial you were talking about, so I had to Google it. It appears to be a take off of the movie "The Warriors". Then they dance at the end...which seems to be referencing Michael Jackson's "Beat It" video. Not a great commercial, but seems pretty harmless to me.

Those have to be the least scary "gangs" I have ever seen.

if you guys are talking about this commercial, I agree it’s probably a safe bet that “our media” has no concerns about it glamorizing gang violence or would consider censoring it. The “gangs” in question are going around eating tacos and dance fighting, and one of them is on roller skates.

Oh, I get it... Very unintimidating gangs for sure.

Just the negative connotation of the word GANG seems to be something that would trigger a certain percentage of our population... Everything else triggers them, surprised this isn't one of those things.

They've been doing for years! Far too long in my opinion.

I’m at the doctor’s office. This whole ‘arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment’ thing is a ruse to prevent lazy people from holding up the line.

especially when they often make you wait 30-45 mins. My big question is why do I have to fill out the same background/health history paperwork every time. wouldn't my doctor already know if there has been any changes to my health history

I'm the GED Coordinator at our high school. We have eight school days until exams. The district just put a new student in my class in hopes that I can get most of her requirements squared away so that she can finish in summer school. I mean, I'm good, but I'm not that good.

They probably cut your pay in the process because you have it too good as well.

What does a GED coordinator do? I've always heard of kids just dropping out of school and getting their GEDs--in other words they get it outside of school not through school.

I suppose there is the possibility that you’ve received care from a different provider since the last time you visited your primary care provider. But to your point, I feel like every other visit, my primary care provider has a ‘new system’ and has to collect the same information I’ve already provided a dozen times.

My wife is a PT and where she works she can see her patients' medical history as far back as their system goes, like 6 years or so. That means appointments, doctor's notes, prescriptions, etc. I would assume when you go see a doctor they have you answer all those questions because they don't have the time to look up every patients history beforehand.

Today they had a procession for the firefighter that was shot and killed in the line of duty. The street was lined with a lot of people showing their respect. One of the people stopped by the shop saying he was waiting for the precession then asked if I knew where he got snapped. How can anyone ask that question in such a disrespectful way in that situation?

The ridiculous new butterfinger commercials....with the alien.

They aren't cute, the catch phrase is stupid, and the concept is just unoriginal.

just horrible.

People that use "disrupt" to try and sound smart in business.

People that use "try and" instead of "try to"

Edited, should not post after grading piles of work apparently...

I honestly feel like reading so much poorly written grammar from my students has made my own worse. Oh well.

Oh...I am SOOO pissed off right now.

I bought a duplex in Milwaukee. Pretty much just a place for my little sister. I've also invested in some other properties, but I normally don't like dealing with the city of Milwaukee, so other than this one place, that's it.

I got a letter on May 24th about the length of the grass and how the hedges needed to be cut and they needed to be cut by.....the 23rd of May. So whatever, I'm expecting a fine of 250.

But it still needs to be cut, so I let her borrow a pickup truck, a lawnmower and a couple of other things.

Long story short, she takes the cab off of the pickup and she puts it up against the garage and she takes a tool box I have in the bed out and puts that up against the door of the garage. It's a 2006, so not a brand new truck, but a pretty nice one for what I use it for.

The city comes by and they TAKE the bed of the pickup and the toolbox WITH all the tools in it.

I call the city, they tell me that it was collected because it was an eyesore and had been sitting there for over 6 months. It'd been there for less than TWO days. And that's it. I try discussing it with them, arguing and I'm doing so in a calm and reasonable voice and they just hang up on me.

Jesus Christ....I'm just so annoyed right now. It's not like it's the end of the world, but they just came into my yard and took my stuff. It's just amazing. And the thing about the house is that you can't even see the garage from the road. It's behind the house and there are woods behind that for about 100 yards until there's a trail that runs along the river.

Anyone have ANY idea what the heck I'm supposed or can do about this?
