"Don't force him to choose between Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. It's like asking someone to choose between which STD to contract!"

Completely agree with the bolded! Slow news until the winter meetings has me reaching for things to talk about!

Doesn’t Cain have a no trade.

He does have a no trade, but the amount of teams on it decreases each season. The structure of the no trade is:

2018- Full no trade

2019- 15 team block

2020- 7 team block

2021 and 2022- 5 team block

He could be moved this offseason hypothetically. If he is still productive in a year or two, he could be a trade candidate to get out of his contract. Not saying they should, but the door is open on the possibility

I valued cheap + team control over current production for the most part. I have Davies and Taylor Williams on my list. Both are cheap with many years of control remaining. Davies has been a solidly above average starter in 2016-2017 before an injury plagued 2018. He'll be 26 next season. Taylor Williams obviously was a bit up and down last season and likely relegated to shuttle crew service to start 2019, but he showed some long streaks of effectiveness.
