Will Carroll Brewers tweet

Outlander
Obviously it’s pretty difficult to discern what he is referencing, but based on his second comment, “sometimes you have to give a wake up call”, I don’t think it has to do with a possible free agent acquisition. Just total speculation on my part, but my guess is that it isn’t something related to player acquisition. Maybe it’s something related to training methods, player development, or the turnover in the athletic training area. Again, just speculation.

It does seem a little strange and reckless to send those tweets with no additional context.

Maybe he thinks the Brewers just decided to let Derek Johnson go to the Reds & doesn't know they actually were negotiating hard to keep him.... and the "wake up call" bit may be what purpose he thinks Johnson's departure will serve to/for the Brewers.

That's the only concrete thing I can think of. Those coaching & trainer changes are truly all they've done. Nothing else is even remotely questionable on a level even as small as letting Taylor Jungmann leave for overseas last winter.

If he thinks there's anything to what he's saying, but that's all he's actually going to say, then he's truly no journalist and in the meantime he's just gotten a bunch of folks grasping for any kind of news/scoops/insights all hot & bothered over a bunch of nothing.

That seems likely. I don't see Carroll as a guy who would care about player moves all that much.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006
