Game thread: Green Bay at New England Patriots, 11/04/18

Count me as someone who thought King + Biegel > Watt. I’ll own up to it. In hindsight, King’s injuries don’t surprise me (it seems like their new toys are always broken), but Biegel having basically zero value after one year does. He’s on the Saints’ active roster now ... hope that move doesn’t come to bite the Packers.

My Facebook feed Sunday night was nothing but conspiracy theory and fix posts. The same as it is every Sunday when the Packers are losing. It's old and tiresome. They're poorly officiated games, there is no fixed. There is no conspiracy. Why would the league fix a game to make sure the Lions win over the Packers?

When you go to Bears message boards you see the same thing, when you go to Vikings message boards you see the same thing, when you go to dolphins message boards you see the same thing. Every single teams fans think that there is a fix or conspiracy theory every time they lose. This is a byproduct of 4K TV with multiple replay angles and everything being shown 50 times in super slo-mo. Everyone is a replay expert and knows exactly what a hold is or What A Catch is. There is no conspiracy theory to cause one team or multiple teams to lose games, officiating an NFL game in real time at full speed is difficult and it probably sucks.

[sarcasm]Oh no... Roco is in on the NFL conspiracy too and tryin to cover it up![/sarcasm]

Re: Biegel - I don't understand why they didn't try him at ILB. He actually looked halfway decent defending the run in preseason.

How does the rest of NFL allow the Patriots to steal a #1 WR? They seriously seem to make the best midseason trades every year! Gordon clearly best WR on field.

This is why:

Josh Gordon suspended indefinitely for violating terms of conditional reinstatement

The Patriots make a lot of low risk, high reward moves that don’t work out. Two examples that immediately come to mind are Ocho Cinco and Martellus Bennett (the second time). We just tend to forget about these bad moves because 1) the risk is minimal and 2) they still win a lot.

Even in hindsight that was a great add by the Patriots. They paid basically nothing and at least get a top WR for a few games. Maybe that's one game they otherwise wouldn't have won. Now they're as good as they were before.
