Standing Room

It’s all how they went about selling tickets. All “sold out” last Monday. Then released tickets day before games with prices jacked up and no announcement of it.

Plus, a portion of the field level bleachers have been reserved for media.

Also noticed the first couple of the rows of seats in some of the Loge level sections have been removed for additional network TV cameras.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I don’t think any of the field bleachers are reserved for media. When I was there Friday they have a makeshift press box behind the field bleachers that was nowhere near full. So I don’t see have there is any way media is in the field bleacher seats.

I walked over there yesterday and most of Section 101 has been replaced with tables and chairs for the press

I noticed this yesterday, It's at least one, if not two sections taken up. Believe me, the standing room is packed, I walked around for an inning or two and it's tough to get a view at all on the lodge level.

How are there not 46,000 plus jamming Miller Park for these playoff games? Is MLB limiting the standing room only Tickets or what? Does anyone know?

I don't understand your question. Are you complaining about attendance? Were you seeing empty seats from where you were in the stadium? I've done standing room, and it sucks. I'm not very tall, and it's just not easy to see. It feels like I'm a kid trying to sneak in, ushers always moving you. I wouldn't go to a game unless I had a seat, especially for $100 bucks.

This is what happens when you let season seat holders buy four seats apiece for all games. Congrats on the “sell out” but you know all tickets won’t actually get used. People aren’t buying the secondary market hard and I don’t blame them.

This might be a different story games 6 and 7, but still annoying for these games. It's not like they couldn't build that a week later.

I think the bare spots are being a bit overblown. I was at both games and saw very few bare spots. I would be surprised if there were more than 200-300 empty seats either night.

I'll add the standing room etiquette was pretty bad. I don't care about saving spots, moreso the standing in areas you aren't supposed to stand and getting drunk/loud/beligerent. I was in the last row of a loge infield section and had people standing in the aisle and directly behind my seats where they shouldn't have both games. Game 1 didn't bother me as the people were nice and courteous, game 2 one specific girl standing behind us had a voice like nails on a chalkboard...and as she got more drunk she got more loud and really dampered our experience. There was also a guy a section over that got more and more drunk that would have equally bothered me had he been standing behind me. I wonder how many others in the last couple rows of sections had to deal with people like this. I definitely plan on getting rid of these seats and using the presale extras for any of game 6 and 7.

My buddy said both seats to his left were empty for both games. WTH?! Give the tix to somebody who will go!!

That doesn’t mean the ticket holders weren’t in the stadium somewhere. They could’ve had a table on the Johnson Controls deck, could’ve been sitting in the bar on the Club Level, could’ve been standing with friends, could’ve been any number of places inside the stadium. Or maybe those seats weren’t sold at all. What if my ticketed seat breaks, they’d have to accommodate me with a different place to sit. Just because a game is “sold out” doesn’t mean they didn’t hold a few tickets back for whatever reason.

I got standing room for Friday and although my back is a little sore (i got there when the gates opened to get a good spot) it was an incredible experience. Field level on the 3rd base side. It was cool knowing that I paid 60 dollars through the presale and that others had paid 2-300 dollars to be just a few feet in front of me.

That's a good point. Miller Park has plenty of options for things to do if you go to the game but don't want to actually watch the game. A few years ago I was sitting about 10 rows behind the Brewers dugout and 5-6 seats in the row right in front of us were empty to start. Eventually people showed up and came and went throughout the game. When they were in their seats I could overhear them talking about what they were doing and the places in the stadium they were going to when not in their seats.

I was surprised that the attendance wasn't higher because I've never seen the Molitor lot fill up. Heck, on Friday, I barely got a spot on in the Spahn lot (which until then I had always assumed was a stadium vendor lot). I'm assuming that the media took up a chunk of parking too or something.

We're in the back row of a loge section for this postseason and I anticipated having people tower over us (or me at least, since I'm not tall). But we're in front of the press box and radio booth, so the standees we've seen so far have been photographers, MLB security people (per one of the nametags I saw), people in suits who look like they're there to work - and on Saturday a guy whose hoodie read FBI BOMB TECH.

So we can stand as often as we want, because we're not blocking any fans; and so far I've felt pretty safe. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I came down for a game a few summers ago, arrived late, and nearly didn't get in. Thankfully, the ticket window person mysteriously/miraculously came up with a couple tickets for my boys and me. The ticket person told me there's a limit on how many standing room tickets they can sell -- and told me the number, although I can't remember what it is.

Standing room wasn’t able to go by the pressbox area. I was there when gates opened and the “not so nice” ticket checker wouldn’t let me go down there to take a simple picture. Seriously? I had front row in the RF bleachers directly behind Yelich. You really think I am looking to sneak down there to stand over 2 hours before the game? Such a joke.

I cringed at the thought of being in the back row anywhere where standing room could be there. In LF you can stand directly above people in the bleachers. They get so close to you their bellies are pretty much shading your head. And of course most of them are drunk hanging a beer over your head. Can’t imagine how often people get beer spilled on them.

Asked in the NLCS thread, but any idea if the team does Uecker seats for the post-season? I wouldn't mind waiting in line for a half a day for a couple dollars for what amounts to standing room when I never make it to said seat.

No Uecker seats unfortunately.

Thanks!
