World Series Tickets

Greenleaf1
Can't argue it is a little backwards that their own ticket account site has Stubhub plastered all over it but then if you use it you are punished, Lol.

Do we know for a fact that people who sold them on StubHub were penalized?

StubHub is the official ticket partner of MLB.com and by default, the Brewers: LINK.

If they penalized people who sold their tickets on StubHub then I think they made a huge mistake. StubHub ticket buyers, due to StubHub's team and league partnerships, are typically treated the same way as fans who purchase their tickets directly from the box office from a customer service standpoint. I know they don't like other ticketing resale sites, but I can't fathom that they would penalize StubHub customers?

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Just using this thread alone, basically everyone locked out resold at least a game on Stubhub.

I don't know how else the Brewers would even know if you did. They are partners, and the Brewers know when you re-sell a ticket there, even if you do it directly through SH. When I logged into my ticket account at different times of the postseason, I was able to see notated on Brewers.com that I had a certain ticket "pending Stubhub resale." They are joined at the hip. I don't see any other way the Brewers would even know if you re-sold.

I think that gets tricky with customers who have expensive seats. They want their same seats or one really close for the playoffs, and I think that is fair. It gets complicated and costly for them to have 12 different presales for different groups of fans, i.e. "terrace sale this day, loge this day."

I would have preferred picking select games and seats. I like to take it from different areas of the park and I would not have bought every game.

But I don't know which games I'll attend and skip ahead of time. They tell me the only way to have full choices at discount pricing is to buy a strip, so I did. But they never said, "Well, if you don't go, we will penalize you for reselling." I think that is lame. I don't care too much because I'll be int he door regardless, but the communications has been bad on many fronts and I chalk that up to lack of experience being in this position.

In my scenario they’d have one presale for all games and they could choose any type of seat for each game. Could pick different seat types for different games, and with what imagine is a relatively low number of people that are eligible for full strips, there should be availability for the expensive seats as they would have first dibs.

Do they consider “forwarding” on the mlb app the same as reselling? That’s all I did and was locked. Atleast now I can blame my brother for taking those tickets and ruining our WS chances! :laughing

Sure hope not as I'll be forwarding my tickets to a friend for game 7.

I've attended 40 games this year and this will be my first time forwarding. If my account gets locked I'll be pretty upset.

This is getting dumber and dumber by the post, and not the posters but the Brewers. I especially loved the "official ticket partner of MLB"...but you are penalized for using them.

By the way, going on 5+ hours of no response. This is the longest I've gone from email/request to response ever...and there really isn't a close second on that. Usually it's pretty quick. I bought general parking yesterday for Friday's game through my rep(not paying that $3 fee), I received an email that my request was processed and card was charged 7 minutes later. Unless their email server broke today, I'm gonna go with they are ignoring me...

Maybe I'll send an email with a subject "Can i buy parking for Game 7" and ask in that email. I did just get a response from Jason Fry, my previous rep who was fantastic and got himself promoted 4 or 5 years ago...now that he's on it I fully expect I'll at least get an answer shortly. I had emailed him a couple hours ago after getting nothing from my rep.

If they punished you for forwarding it would be the dumbest thing ever. My four 10-pack tickets are “owned” by a group of four people (myself included). For the postseason tickets, I forwarded each ticket to the respective owner, no different than what I have to do with the physical tickets during the season. This is not reselling.

They shouldn't have a "punishment" for any of this. There could be any number of circumstances that arise that would force someone to re-sell their tickets if they are not able to attend a game. Once the ticket is purchased, it should be the property of the individual and they should have the right to do with it as they wish, IMO.

Perhaps. But with an event like the WS the Brewers know there will no shortage of buyers, so they can basically do whatever they want.

I agree with you though, even more so when the TIME and sometimes the DATE of the game isn't known when you buy it.

In my opinion they shouldn't give anyone full strips of tickets.

If this were the case, I would not renew my 20 game package for the first time after 25 years.

That’s surprising to me. Aren’t your strips not necessarily the better seats in whatever sections they give you? Wouldn’t you rather be able to choose better seats? I could understand if you could just get the same seats you have all year, but if you are getting different seats for the postseason I’d rather be able to choose where I sit.

Because of the length of my tenure as a SSH, my seats are pretty close to my usual seats. This is a big reason why I continued to renew every year, even in the bad years. If my tenure did not mean anything, there would have definitely been years where I would have chosen not to renew. Also the strips are sold at a discount from the individually purchased seats.

I was under the impression that people got way worse postseason tickets than their regular season tickets. For example, say they have field level for regular season and they were given terrace reserved for postseason. If you are getting similar to your regular seat then I can understand that. I knew the strips were discounted, and I intended that my scenario wouldn’t change the price (although I didn’t state that).

On a separate note, I wouldn’t be surprised if they switch them to digital in the future and give you the 48-hour treatment as well.

The strips are always same level, but not the same seats, as that would be impossible. If I had a 20 pack, I share those seats with other 20 pack holders. We can't all get the same playoff seats.

But a better example is that my seats were right behind the plate all year. At playoff time they shifted down the first base line, and shifted far. Yet I can buy seats behind the plate at the presale. That confuses me.

It also normal to be many rows back in the postseason with your strip.

I guess I don't understand why if someone has seasons tickets, that they wouldn't be offered those same tickets in the post season? Why would they move?
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Full season you can, partial season you can’t for obvious reasons.

Okay, thanks. I missed that part obviously.

I never got a call back from my rep. So no code. I'm pretty upset. I don't appreciate them messing with my finances. I was making some nice $ reselling tickets. I realize many of you disagree with that. How much credit do I get for supporting this team through thick or thin since there were Brewers?? I mean rolled up in a blanket @ County stadium on those April nights with 8000 other crazies? Thousands of home games attended over the last 50 years. Mostly losing seasons & now we FINALLY taste some success & they cut me out like this. This was a perk we were promised & earned. I imagine they are selling some new season accounts by doing this. I hope they enjoy their new friends.
