NLCS Tickets

Honestly if I were not SSH I would just do it now to get the seats. You could sign up for 1 seat in the terrace for $340. You could sell opening day alone and be sitting around $280. You'd very likely be saving money if you went to a couple playoff games if the alternative was Stubhub, AND you'd get all the perks of being SSH.

I'm considering this, as I live in Utah, but would come for the WS and don't really feel like this is a game I want play (ie, captcha clicks, guesswork, getting lucky, etc.). If I buy 1 terrace reserve though as a SSH for 2019, am I only eligible for 1 WS seat for 1 game?

I would guess 1 SSH seat = 1 postseason seat.

Keep in mind that any World Series games would likely have diminished ticket availability, compared to the DS and CS rounds. Think of the 2002 all-star "game," when much if not all of the field bleachers were taken up by extra media. Stuff like that would if anything be more of a factor for a WS game.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

But didn't those long time SShs already have the opportunity to buy full playoff strips that included every World Series Game? I believe even 20 pack holders had that opportunity.

Yes. I'm a 20 game SSH. Email went out in August and I believe it was a September 6 deadline to purchase a full post season strip (which I did).

Yeah, I changed my mind. Not sure I want to pay $900 for the 3 seats I need. Will just secondary market it, which would include our own trading post.

Only for the # of seats they have as a SSH. I had a single seat this year and was only able to pre-buy one seat for the post season, with no choice of location.

Which is absolutely stupid. There is no reason they should be able to do that and then double dip in all the other presales just to flip them for profit.

Well, here are some things I'm not sure you are considering...

- I have seen some posts on this site questioning why anyone would be a season ticket holder since there are so many opportunities to get discounted or even free tickets throughout the season. This is true and I probably could attend 20 games each year for a lot cheaper than what I spend on season tickets each year.

- I have been a season ticket holder for the last 25 years. Think about some of those years. The Brewers were horrible and during those county stadium years, there were maybe 10,000 at the most at some of those April games that were in my ticket package (was a 15 game package prior to Miller Park opening). During some of those 85-100 seasons I was paying a pretty good premium for most of those games as they were doing countless discounts to get seats filled.

Probably the #1 reason I continue to renew my 20 game pack each year is because of the post season opportunities granted to SSH. Also, if I decide to sit out a few years, I lose my place in line (seniority gets better seat opportunities for post season). If they took that perk away, I most likely would discontinue my season tickets.

Other factors, many SSH act with integrity and get extra seats for family and friends. Also, if SSH aren't buying and listing on SH...it's 100 different Joe Schmo ticket brokers from out of state and from 50 different accounts each and making pricing that much worse.

Man, these prices are killing me. I got Club seats for the divisional series at $90, and got a club seat in Denver for Sunday's game for $110. I messed up and missed the presale for the NLCS, and standing room for $120 (before stubhub fees) is crazy. In 2016, I got a standing room ticket for Cubs/Giants playoff game for $50. In SF, the most expensive city in the country! By the way, that game went 5 hours and 13 innings and as an old guy, I was exhausted.

I talked to a ticket rep from the Brewers and they are selling full NLCS strips with season ticket deposits now but don't guarantee anything for the World Series. Apparently a third of the tickets for each game of the World Series is taken by MLB, leaving only about 28,000 or so seats to everybody else. There might be a SSH presale for whatever remaining World Series tickets are remaining but can't say for sure.

I'm wondering when the World Series pre-sale will be, to be honest. I'm still off on fall break this week and it'd be WAY more convenient to try to get my extra seats that I need while I'm HOME and able to continually refresh, etc. While I'm at work, it will LESS than optimal, to say the least!

If you are good with SRO or terrace, I would wait until day of. There are 4,000 seats available right now and more still being listed. Prices will drop at some point as sellers panic to avoid not selling at all. Different story though if you care a lot where you sit and want good seats...especially with any potential LA people flying in.

Keith, I assume you are seeing an amount available on the SH site somewhere. If so, where do you see this? It may just be my PC. For example on one PC when I use chrome and browse SH, it shows and option where I can select multiple sections, on another PC also using chrome, it does not give me that option.

Right now I have 2 people going with me and am working on getting a 3rd for the final ticket. I have the 1 ticket listed at a fairly obscene price, to the point that nobody will buy it, and will leave it there until I get a resolution on finding one more person. Anywho, I'm going into the "get more pricing info" screen on my listing and can see how many are left. Also if you get the SH app on your phone and scroll down the home screen to the game you want, it will show you how many are available. It won't show if you search for it, you have to scroll down and find it.

Take that away and they will lose about half their accounts. The way you are awarded your playoff strip doesn't really seem fair to SSH anyway, to be honest. My seats are in the terrace, 421 basically all year. They stick me in 414 for the playoffs. Yet when I go into the presale or even the WI sale, suddenly the best available terrace seats are where I was sitting all year.

SSH willingly overpay on regular season tickets to get their privileges. I had a bunch of games with $18 face value ticket that were $6.32 on StubHub. Non-SSH are never complaining about that, only when it works in reverse.

it's interesting that someone who only buys 20 of the 81 home games out of the year calls themselves a "season ticket holder."

also, your rational behind your own willingness to scalp playoff tickets is flawed. you are not paying a "premium" for tickets, other people are just getting deals because the games are not selling out. you're paying face value (maybe even a little less compared to single game, box office buyers, right?). And your reward for that is guaranteed playoff tickets at face value. How you made the leap from paying face value for 20 regular season games to "I deserve to rip others off because I'm a season ticket holder" is baffling.

I'm not saying you're a terrible person if you do this. Just own it and be honest with yourself about what you're doing.

Who exactly are you referring to? I'm not testifying to anything I have done. I am simply explaining why they allow SSH to have presales. It is an incentive for them to sell more packages.

Also, I don't refer to myself as a season seat holder for having a 20-pack, the Brewers do. They print it on everything they send me.

It's baffling to me why some are so sensitive about this. The solution couldn't be more simple. Buy a 20 or 10 pack and you have a presale. The end.

I know I am frustrated with the price of the games, that could be where some of this stems from. I see both sides of the issue though and like most things in life, it is what it is.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I had a 20 pack with some friends for a few years back around 2008. The main reason we got it was because we went to a bunch of games already anyway, the team was on its way up & we wanted to be guaranteed postseason tickets when they finally broke through.

We cancelled after 2009 mainly because the only real benefit was the potential postseason carrot in the fall. With how easy & cheap tickets were on the secondary market, the hassle of selling certain games (we were terrace box so not a ton of resale value anyway, especially cuz the Cubs still sucked) or missing/switching games because you had to lock in dates ahead of time just wasn't worth it anymore. Macha didn't help either.

All that to say, people that pony up for any package have been the backbone of the team's success in the attendance department over the last decade plus & I hope they are thouroughly enjoying finally getting their carrot this year. Whether that means eating it themself or selling it to another hungry individual, I could not care less.

That is how I feel, but if you live close by I feel that being SSH still adds some cool value, if you place any value on meeting players, promos and the rewards programs, though many don't.

I would love to be a season ticket holder, but I travel an average of 40 weeks a year for work. The end result is that I have seen as many Brewer road games as I have seen home games over the last 6 years. Saw them three times in St. Louis this year and happened to be in Denver this week so I flew out early to make the Sunday game. Just frustrating to see prices over $400 for a single baseball game. Not dropping a grand to take my son to a game. If I could buy tickets with airline miles or hotel points...
