Fun or torture?

danzig6767
I hate losing a game like Saturday but it wasn't torture for me. It was a great baseball game. Wish we were on the other side of it but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hoping for more Brewers playoff games because this has been an absolute treat.

I was there, in the Terrace Box and I was jumping around like a little kid. I was completely fired up for the 8th and 9th innings, while the loss stung, it was truly an incredible game and a ton of fun to be at.

Editors note: A couple of #KratzBlatz may have helped dull the post game pain.

Oddly enough, I think it helped that I was at both games 1 and 2. I am very nervous for tonight since I'll be able to throw a temper tantrum without worrying about embarrassing myself in front of anyone but my wife haha.

I get way more nervous watching important sporting events on TV compared to when i attend them in person.

For example, i've been to multiple Packers playoff games over the years. Being at the games, it was more of a fun atmosphere for me at least than super nerve racking. When i watch sports playoff games on TV though, and especially if at home by myself with nothing else to distract my attention from the game vs (watching the games with others or at a bar), my nervous level rises quite a bit.

For Monday's Game 3, I suspect the more I stick to Bob and Jeff instead of the national media, the closer to fun it will be.

The Brewers don't seem to fit the national media narratives, so their usual talking points are just annoying.

Plus Joe Buck, man.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Why, with some of the long term posters around here do things seem to always be "wrong" or "right"? It's opinion, and if you're really into trying to "prove people wrong" on here, I would say your intentions are wrong. I've enjoyed your posts for a long time, but that's pretty elitist of you to say your opinion is more relevant or correct than another's. It's fandom, we're pretty reactionary-even if wrong in the moment it doesn't need to be excluded or called out. I apologize for routinely standing against these posts, but man the need to be right on internet boards these days drives me nuts.

In this case it isn't opinion though. There is the way the game is actually played and there is basically back seat driving. With 2 outs and 2 strikes the runner on 1st is supposed to go all out for 2nd base on contact, they are not supposed to be watching the ball off of the bat. That is how baseball is actually played. He can glance back and pick up the ball after he hits full speed but if he looked back right away he was not playing the game properly. By the time he could look back the ball was on top of him. There are plenty of times people disagree with me on these forums and I'm fine with it because the game has a ton of gray areas in it. This was just one of those times where if you actually understand the game of baseball there is no way you complain about what happened.

You're absolutely right. It sounds like you're talking about the Braun interference....that wasn't on Braun AT ALL. But to answer the question, it's torture. It's torture because I know these chances are rare and I don't like reading the message board because the negative statements seem to take over when things just start going bad.

I envy those who can be elated in the great moments while still keeping perspective in the low moments and not letting it get you down. I can't do that.

If for example the Brewers get to the World Series and lose I will look back at some point and still be able to appreciate what a great season it was but it will still tear me up for awhile that we didn't win.

I'm close to this but it has to do with perspective. I see a WS bid as attainable. 2-1 only raised that. Game 2 didn't hit me. Game 3 was awe. Game 4, I'm just devastated. 3-1 was a highly probable WS bid. Now, it feels the end is looming. Looming before it seemed a given. From cat bird seat to deaths door. I expected this to be a win. This staff was magical. They deserved it. But now I'm flat gutted.

If Mke makes the WS, its absolutely house money for me. I'm giddy... well until it looks as if they could actually win it. Then the loses rip me apart.

Expect nothing... easy to enjoy, fun

Have something in your grasps... nervous

Feel it slipping away... gutted

Tonight feels like GBs implosion vs Seattle in the NFC championship game. This wasn't even an implosion but it's that hard to swallow.

Didn't help I hit Boston hard enough that if the Crew won my night was going to be fairly profitable. It was a push with the L. Lots to be tormented by but at least the gambling part I'm used to.

This extra inning game is big time torture if you live in the Eastern Time Zone.

I'm typically up until 2:00am or so, but the stress wiped me out. I shouldn't be awake right now, but my kids have short days of school this week and I have work to do.

As fun as always. Sucks they lost, but what a great game. Lol at anyone calling that "junk".

As a Brewer fan, that game was tough to handle. But as a baseball fan? Wow! Neither team's pitching staff cracked. It was one of those games where it was just unfortunate one team had to lose.

As a four, actually five, decade fan of the Crew I am hurting as much as anyone. At the same time absolutely jacked to get this game 5 going. It has been thoroughly entertaining and maddening and exhilerating and heartbreaking and heart stopping to watch this series unfold. Can't wait to see this team respond.

Ditto. I get the frustration, of course, but that was a great baseball game last night. Wrong team won, but let's do it again!

Last night's game was torture. I didn't have the same feeling today. I saw last night's game against Rich Hill as a good chance to win, but today's against Kershaw was a tough matchup. It ended up being a great game until the Dodgers managed to tack on a few near the end. I was very encouraged by Woodruff's performance. The fact is, they needed one in LA to get back to Milwaukee, and they got it. Today was kind of a "house money" game.

Now Friday's game I guarantee will be waterboard-level torture.

What has been torturous is watching the guys striking out at an alarming rate these past 2 games. Yes, the Dodgers have good pitching but it is maddening to watch them pass on pitches over the plate and swing at balls under their noses or in the dirt.

This is my feeling exactly. It almost seems like they are tired.

Dodgers must be more tired then, since they struck out even more those past 2 games.

Well, now it's fun. Game 7 at Miller Park....TORTURE!

The levels of torture just keeps elevating.
