While I expect the Cubs to win tonight, it would be quite satisfying to have back-to-back days in which the tiny Wrigley Field visiting locker room was filled with champagne and celebration.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

I think the Rockies win. The Cubs are not firing on all cylinders. The way the Rockies finished the season, it will come down to Freeland starting on short rest if you ask me.

I think if Freeland stays out of trouble COL will win. The Cubs pen is shot if they can get the pitch count up on Lester and force the Cubs to go to their pen then I think the Rockies will win.

COL - 4

Scrubs - 3

I'm with you. I have a feeling they might be reeling from yesterday. If they had a couple of days to "recover" then their chances of winning are much better. The Rox can hit homers. Will the wind be blowing out?

Winds are supposed to be out of the north during most of the day, but switching to east and even ESE - less than 10mph and either blowing in from left or from right depending on the time. Wrigley will play big tonight, but it's not like the weather conditions will turn this into a college softball game. Temps are supposed to be hovering around 60 - great night for fall baseball, actually.

To me it's all on Lester - CO has a huge bullpen advantage just because they have better late inning options who aren't completely burned out, they can cope with a relatively short start from Freeland. If Lester isn't dominant, the Cubs are in big trouble because their late inning pen is in shambles due to both overuse and injury - I'd actually expect a regular starter or two to be the 1st arms out of their pen tonight (Hamels, Hendricks...).

The Cubs literally have one reliever I would trust as a fan, Chavez and he pitched 2 innings yesterday. Everyone else is a complete dumpster fire. If they get down early they are in trouble. They probably don't have a choice but to use Hamels in the pen tonight/

I view Cubs as the favorite here due to Lester and not having the travel the last few days like Col has had to do.

However, I know we shouldn't really say it but at this point I think I'd rather play the Cubs. Their bullpen is in very rough shape right now and we've had the upper hand on them pretty much since the first couple series this year. We're comfortable in their stadium and it would eliminate the variable that is Coors Field.

True, risk/reward there. While I think that for the reasons stated, I also get just having them and the Cards out so that even if we don't win at least they can't. Sure it would be sweeter to knock them out, but it would also sting more if we lost to them. So I guess factoring that in, maybe the extra couple % favorite we'd be in my mind (though I'm sure not in Vegas' mind) might not be worth it.

I'll be rooting for the Rockies. Sure they could win the game and knock the Brewers out in the next round, but I'd much rather face them than a (in my opinion) much better Cubs team looking to exact revenge (not to mention somewhat negating the Brewers' home field advantage). I wouldn't be surprised to see the Brewers win or lose to either team, but I'd much rather take my chances with Colorado.

As much as I would love to see a Brewers-Cubs NLDS, I don't think I could stomach our home play-off games being majority cubs fans. I don't blame people for selling - everyone has their own finances to worry about and the tickets will get top dollar. I can't help be be salty about the "wrigley north" crap. I was at Game 163 at Miller Park South - the "let's go brewer" chants and "M-V-P" chants gave me chills, it felt like sweet justice. I was in a section where there weren't that many brewers fans - I was on full tilt with the chants in the belly of the beast, it was awesome.

With that being said a Brewers-Cub NLDS would be epic and amazing baseball. All the clenching, pacing and heart racing probably won't be good for me. But If the brewers win, it would take what happened in the final stretch and game 163 to a whole new level. A beautiful entry into brewers lore.

If Colorado wins, can we call the Cole Hamels trade the worst in MLB history? Ignites the Brewers by talking down to the city and its fans ... Brewers then go on a torrid streak to win the Central and force a playoff which then eliminates the Cubs.

I'm 60% joking.

I'm rooting for the Rockies, because I think they aren't as good of a team as the Cubs - even though the Cubs are on fumes. For whatever reason the Brewers struggle with LH starters, and the Cubs could run out 3 good ones for an entire NLDS and handcuff the Brewers' left-handed hitting lineups.

Brewers are 5-2 against the Rockies this year, and the Brewers would maintain a significant homefield advantage over them compared to the circus that Cub-Brewer afternoon games at Miller Park would bring.

I want the Rockies to win...no reason more than I just don't want to play the Cubs again and again. We play huge games with them all year that have a playoff feel. I want something new...new excitement.

I think the Rockies have a legit chance tonight. Good pitcher against a struggling Cubs line-up.
