Playoff game times

NYChez
I just sold at the default price SH suggested. So, comparable to other seats I assume. I highly, highly doubt there will be any issue getting face value for any seat against any opponent.

I usually find the suggested price to be a bit low. I'm selling two of my 4 tickets that I have for Thurs. game. The suggested price they gave me was $30 lower than the lowest ticket price in that section and the 12 sections surrounding that section.

If they are worried about ratings I don't understand why they just don't go with a 5 or 6 start time in Milwaukee and 9 in LA. Friday they don't have much choice with four games but no reason to do afternoon games with two games.

Yeah, I knew I could get a bit more, but I'm sorta having a morality attack and only truly care about getting the face back. I was very easily able to drastically upgrade from my SSH pair in the terrace to Row 8 behind first base, so I feel I've been treated exceptionally well as a cheap-o SSH and am not really looking to cash in.

The NFL.

If someone has turned on a 6 PM baseball game they might not change the channel with the 7:20 TNF start. But they must have a calculation that deems that they will get better ratings with afternoon/early evening games than going up against TNF. Either that or they have a very bad (for the MLB) handshake deal with the NFL.

You can sell on StubHub right now and upload barcodes the day of. I alerted StubHub to this problem because they were going to have an utter panic if they didn't override their typical rules. Usually you need to upload a few days prior, but that wasn't going to happen and thousands of tickets were getting listed anyway.

Moral of story StubHub is allowing you to wait all the way to the day of game to actually deliver tickets.

I saw you posted this earlier, but when I went to prep a listing it was still saying in their software that I needed to deliver by the day before the game, so that freaked me out and I didn't list them. Is that not the case?

They changed it to where you can have tickets in hand Oct. 4th. You should have no problems waiting until day of to put in the barcode. I would check again because it is giving me the option to have them "by October 4th" and also is the same for Fridays game.

This really stinks. I'm pretty sure I can't go to either one. Work would be fine, but I don't have a babysitter to cover a few hours or pick up kids. I would have to take them to the game, which, yeah, no. So disappointed.

Frustrating to say the least. I personally could go, but my girlfriend simply can't go until 4pm Thursday and 1 PM Friday with a 3 hour trip just to get to the stadium. I could get someone else to go, but we do all our big sporting events together and it would be a shame to leave her out of it. (I know I feel like I am breaking some kind of guy code here).

It really shocks me afternoon games are good for rating. I get they will fill the stadium regardless, but do people seriously stay home for work or tune in during work to watch these games to make that big of a difference? Where they wouldn't tune in at night? I don't get it to be honest. I won't turn on a single game this postseason other than the Brewers now...won't get any extra support from me.

This would be fine for me if it wasn't in the middle of quarter end closing(accountant here). These games will fall on top 10 busiest days of the year for me...no way can I take off work for them. If the game times truly are 330 pm and noon, I'll be unloading my tickets as well. I'd have to at minimum hope for a game 5 so I could go to 1, or advance to the NLCS in which case I'll go to every game.

Keep in mind that everyone thought it was insane years ago that there was so many off days in playoff baseball in order to cater to TV, leading to AZ being able to play the whole playoffs with 3 starters. This is the tradeoff of massively reducing that issue. At some point you're going to have all the games on the same day and obviously they want to reduce the overlap on TV as much as they can.

I find it super suprising that they went with the central time zone game as the early game, and the east coast time zone as the later game. That seems stupid, unless maybe they just assumed since it was red sox that people would be tuned in no matter what. It won't be that way this year, seems a foregone conclusion that we're looking at 3 pm and 1 pm for game times. Very disheartening.
