Sickels' Crystal Ball on Ryan Braun

he definitely has Braun slowing down this season. He has 10 HR's and 32 RBI's and is only projected at 19/65 with half the year yet. Those are great numbers for a rookie, but i think he will out do them. Especially if lefties continue to not be able to figure out how to get him out.

Those numbers, while good, aren't special.

I'm not sure I would agree with that. He has him projected to be a borderline hall of famer, which is a tough thing to project anybody to be.

Yeah, 451 hr's from a 3rd baseman would place him 4th among HOF'ers at that position. Only Matthews, Killebrew, and Schmidt have hit more.

Looks like he's pegged him as a special player. Nifty!

Traded to the Angels? Booo! Pretty decent numbers though.. I just hope he keeps killing the ball! Think we can get our entire infield in the all star game next year? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

"Only Matthews, Killebrew, and Schmidt have hit more"

Just shows the lack of respect Eddie Mathews gets. His name is constantly being spelled with an extra "t".

Killebrew played more at first base than at third.

Look, I saw Mathews play. I idolized Mathews as a kid. He was a great HR hitter. Probably would have hit 600 in today's ballparks. But he was a dead pull hitter and didn't hit for a high average though he took plenty of walks.

Based on what I've seen of Braun, barring injury he will far outpace Mathews as a hitter. He uses the whole park, and can reach the fences all over.

Sickels has Braun topping out at 40 HR and doing it once. He's light in his loafers if he thinks Braun will top out at one 40 HR season.

Didn't Sickels predict great numbers for Rickie Weeks and ok numbers for Prince? That predictions turning out to be pretty WRONG!

He predicted Weeks to be a 20ish HR guy, he predicted Fielder would hit over 50 HR's at least once in his career... so no thats really not true. He just didn't predict Weeks would have the injury problems.

You mean he can't really see into the future?

What a fraud!

Anybody notice he has Braun retiring in 2022 at age 38 and then has him coming out of retirement 7 years later in 2029 at age 39?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Apparently John Sickels believes Curtis Granderson will be a Brewer in 2015 after playing three seasons with the Cubs. Granderson will be 34 when he gets to Milwaukee. Sickels also projects Granderson to be a Manager of the World Champion Cubs in 2038.

Cryogenics. He freezes himself so he can miss the Angels rebuilding phase and then they thaw him out when they are ready to contend for a championship again.

That still doesn't explain how Braun is 38 years old in 2022 and 39 years old in 2029.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
