2018-09-24: Brewers (Bullpen) at Cardinals (Flaherty) 7:15 PM CDT [Brewers win, 6-4 -- Lots of drama & a clutch W!]

Eye Black
I don't get it, at all...why waste hader here?? Just freaking Walk Carpenter intentionally..save a pitcher. Now, IF this is the only batter Hader faces so he's available the rest of the series, it's okay. But, Cedeno would have been fine here.

Put go ahead runner on 2nd for free? Doesn't sound ideal.

You don't wanna move the winning run into scoring position. Hader is gonna pitch at least the next inning now, maybe two depending on pitches and if his spot to hit comes up.

I wouldn't have questioned the initial one if they went lefty either. It could easily go either way, to act like it's a clear cut bonehead decision either way is what's wrong. There is a logic either way. Yet it's multiple posts that it was a horrible move etc. I wouldn't criticize it either way. Peralta just made a bad pitch. It was basically a toss up decision, CC guess wrong

Hmm, that worked out well.

Almost like lefties help neutralize Carpenter!

To the tune of an .850 OPS...

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Then why start Jennings?

Never said it was a smart thing to do. It worked, so they looked good. Yay?!?

Yeah, Saladino would be about my 6th choice behind Granderson, Santana, Schoop, Broxton, and Thames

Seeing Saladino was a surprise no doubt. Flaherty's best pitch is his slider. Maybe Saladino was the guy out of that group who they felt had the best chance vs the slider. He did put in a pretty good at bat. Also, any one of those other 5 listed could be someone they have ticketed for a specific reliever. Again, they know and look at a lot more data then we do.

Might have been Saladino because it was a last second change to go with the PH. If there is nobody on, the plan was to leave FP in. No time for one of their better PHs to warm up - had to grab a bat and get to the box.

Some of these "hot takes" need to be said before the result happens...

You know what's funny. If he puts in Cedeno and Cedono gives up the hit (like Jennings did so many times) a chunk of posters would be ripping it saying Peralta was rolling well, why not just let him go. Of course not saying the same folks would've said it, but CC can't win with everybody unless he learns how to magically predict which reliever is gonna give up hits on a given day

I think the general snark and tetchiness here tonight is a reflection of the tension in the final week. Just remember we all have a common enemy.

....the People's Front of Judea!

Just wait till the playoffs!

Packers release fan ejection reports after each game, BF will have user timeout reports, lol.

Yep, that's my only problem with it.

It's not a personal attack on CC if someone disagrees with something he does. You're right, different factions are going to have different opinions.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave
