Come on boys we still need a triple this inning

I had to check on Kratz, as you could guess 0 career triples. He has 844 career PA .

all-time leader for PA among players with 0 career triples is a former Brewer catcher...any guesses?

Wel, just about every catcher we ever had hit for the cycle. And I think Schroeder’s first ML hit was a triple... so I’ll go with Simmons because it seems so unlikely.

I'll guess Jonny Estrada considering it would take him about three minutes to run from home to third.

Reminds me of one of Jim Powell's all time greatest lines:

"and here comes Johnny Estrada rounding 3rd with a piano on his back"

Simmons actually had more triples than Ryan Braun right now, 47 to 46

For me, the Kratz/Pina thing is just such a silly thing to get hung up on. Neither are great options. Both are backup quality. But it’s strange that so many want the Brewers to use metrics but when they don’t agree with who they want to be playing, then we should be asking questions.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Pina had a very good year last year and was your clear starting catcher all year. Finally started hitting well in the second half but is now playing less than a 38 yr old generally poor defensive C who's basically never made the bigs and is hitting terribly and you don't think someone should at least ask what the story is?

Easiest trivia question ever.

Sorry. What is the only team to have all 3 outfielders hit .400?

Early 1900's Tigers?

Or the 1894 Phillies?

1894 Phillies is correct. Impressive. They had the good Billy Hamilton, notice his 198 runs scored in 132 games

OK, who was the player/manager for the 1901 American league Milwaukee Brewers? Hint, he also has the record for the highest ever single season batting average

It's not a stretch or strange thing to ask the question why has Kratz overtaken Pina for playing time. Seems like a logical question to me.

If Thames suddenly started seeing more starts at 1B than Jesus, is that an appropriate question to ask?

I honestly don't care who starts at catcher, I'm assuming there is a logical reason, at least in CC's mind, but there is nothing wrong with people wondering what gives, and there is nothing wrong with a member of the media asking what's the reason that Kratz is getting more starts than Pina.

Yeah, I knew it wasn’t right, just trying to think of someone with a lot of ABs. I considered Buck Martinez and Porter too.

I wasn't trying to call you out, I was just surprised when I saw he had 47

Agree 100 percent. Isn't this why we follow the game to have discussion around the who what and why of the team we love? Some folks just want to know if they won or not case closed.
