No big deal losing to the Pirates........again. It's just random baseball stuff.

I don’t know what you’re trying to imply here.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

It stinks that Thames was announced as the PH because the Pirates can now just toss out a lefty.

Or CC can just pull Thames for a righty and we can avoid him making a sure out the rest of the game. Great thinking by CC there.

I get that he’s been bad lately but you don’t want to blow a guy than could pop one any at bat now.

I'm trying to imagine another baseball market where the contending team can switch catchers in the middle of the season and the question is never even asked of management the reason. Unbelievable. Pina hits a huge homer last game. Team has the next day off and we still get Kratz behind the dish. Whatever happened to make him fall out of favor will be an interesting conversation when he signs with his new team in the off season.

It is really hard to know if a team just has your number or if it is just bad luck. If we have a 50/50 chance to beat every team we play we should go 5-11 against 7% of the teams we faced over a 16 game sample. Doing it against one team on the season fits the 7% narrative. It also easily could just be a case of our hitting not matching up with their pitching. With 30 teams each playing that many games against at least 4 other teams we should see something like 8.5 teams with that type of stretch against other teams, which means more than 1 team on average per division. Since the real odds aren't 50/50 that number should be even greater.

What i'm saying is that kind of stretch is going to commonly happen without it really meaning anything every season. Hard to say if this is really meaningful or not.

The fact that the biggest struggles came during our toughest stretch of travel/games played on the season suggests it is probably just random to me though. It is just being heavily skewed by our worst stretch of baseball all season.

Pina is still under Brewers control for 3 more seasons after this year. I am sure they won’t let him walk after this season since he is still productive and will be cheap for another season or two.

My favorite season series outlier this year is that the Reds have gone 6-1 against the Dodgers.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

A team that keeps winnings games. And they didn’t switch catchers like you’re implying. Pina was god awful for a long time and has been banged up to say the least. He and Kratz are on a pretty obvious rotation because CC has determined it’s what’s best for the team.
