Playoff Tickets-Lottery?

rickh150

So technically not a playoff game, but if anyone wants to attend Game 163 (if necessary) here is how you do it.

Cubs announce plan for tiebreaker tickets:

CHICAGO -- The Cubs are headed to the postseason, although they won't know when they begin the playoffs until after Sunday's regular-season finale against the Cardinals.

If the Cubs and Brewers finish with identical records, they would play a tiebreaker on Monday at Wrigley Field. Tickets for the tiebreaker game would go on sale online at http://www.cubs.com/tickets on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

The Cubs will offer an in-person purchase opportunity for tiebreaker tickets starting at 8 a.m. CT on Monday at the Wrigley Field ticket office on Clark Street, just north of the marquee. Fans also can purchase tickets for the tiebreaker game by phone at 800-THE-CUBS (800-843-2827) starting at 8 a.m. on Monday.

Season ticket holders have an opportunity to secure tiebreaker game tickets in advance of the general public. The deadline to submit payment online is 11:59 p.m. on Saturday.

If the Cubs and Brewers play a tiebreaker game on Monday, and it is the only Game 163 across Major League Baseball, it would start at 3:09 p.m. at Wrigley Field. The Cubs would host because they won the season series.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

For better or worse there will be no issue listing and selling tickets on StubHub prior to having the barcodes. Usually they require barcodes days in advance, but will not be doing so for Brewers postseason home games.

So Brewers plan foiled...

I could be wrong, but I still think the Brewers will have a much better showing than usual if they end up with the Cubs.

I think so, I think people will be pretty excited for the NLDS. I got tickets for Game 1 and wouldn't sell them for 3x what I paid.

Any educated guesses on game times for either day ?

Well there are two games scheduled that day so we could very well be playing a day game.

Did some digging. First day last year on Thurs was AL and two games. First at 3 Central and the other at 6:30 Central. LAD with a 5-0 lead now so almost for sure we'd be the 3 central game since they'll be playing that game in LA. Friday has all 4 games so that becomes a bit more of a mess to figure out but again with one game going in LA and the other games involving Boston and possibly NY i'd assume day game as well. so that's the educated guess that I can come up with

Don't think that will matter. I think they'll put the game with the better ratings as the night game. Brewers/Cubs sure feels like it would be the higher rated game than Dodgers/Braves.

Would they really give us two day games? For some reason I doubt that.

Boston/Hous played in the day both games last year so NYY could be at night. I feel like Tor got day games every time when they were in the playoffs.

Good point on the ratings thing, I really don't know. However, LA is the second largest city and Atlanta is bigger than MKE. So they might figure that as a better rating? Plus seems kind of bs to make them play at 1 local time. Friday seems obvious that LA would be a late game though since it's the only one west of Central time.

I have tickets for Friday game and was refunded my WC game tix by Stub Hub. I will be driving up from Bloomington Il. Hoping for a 3:00 start time or later. Actually thought it would be 6:00 pm start but I am ready to party in MP regardless!! Am looking for game times TBA.

If anyone is interested, Parking passes are currently available on StubHub for the Brewers at the Cubs in NLDS games 3 and 4. Nope, not a typo. :laughing

How’s the availability for NLCS tickets looking? Are people gobbling those up excessively as season ticket holders? Or is availability pretty similar to what it was looking like for the NLDS.

I guess the good thing is we are extremely unlikely to have already clinched before WI residents get their shot. That makes it easier to get tickets. Unless we sweep of course...which I won’t complain about.

How does the WI resident presale work? Is it tied to your billing address? I know in years past for the 5-County discount i've just had to enter my parents zip code and it works even though I live in Illinois.

I swear people said it had to be shipped to Wisconsin for the Cubs presale before the season...but it could have been billing that people meant. In all honesty since these are electronically delivered it really is meaningless regardless. Just put Wisco down for both and you won't find any issue.

Thanks for the intel Snapper.
